  1. Amazing videos showing just how strong the quakes are at such a shallow depth, god help those poor people in Grindavic even without an eruption, it's relentless for them :-(
  2. Quake chart and map... Skjálfti VAFRI.IS Skjálfti http://hraun.vedur.is/ja/oroi/allarsort.html if it's a Laki type eruption...you might be right
  3. it's gonna happen soon, isn't it....I can feel it :-(
  4. Magma depth now at 1.1km as a placeholder, it could be almost at the surface
  5. I think you are right, or even sooner. Are you on the web cam youtube page? They've closed the road past the Blue Lagoon to Grindavik, there is a lot of traffic evacuating
  6. are you watching the live stream webcams? the quakes are going through the roof, we must only be hours or minutes away
  7. It's going mad with the quakes there in Iceland now. I caught the last 3 eruptions as they happened, you guys need to watch this cam and see it live. The experts think we are imminent for an eruption any minute practically!! Here's a great webcam... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=804nPrAUAxg&ab_channel=LivefromIceland
  8. A lot of us already have a layer of blubber to keep us well insulated :-P
  9. I agree, here's a photo I took in November 2009, and this was as bad as it got here, and yet 20 miles away, they had a foot or more of snow that lasted weeks :-(
  10. I agree, the weather has only seemingly got worse in one way.....the lack of weather. Today is like a blast from the past
  11. had around an inch of rain so far, but there is no warning for my area, and it looks like another inch to come or more during the day?
  12. I think they're talking about a Sudden Stratospheric Warming , it basically shoves all the cold air from the poles, southwards to our latitudes, and can lead to snowy spells, and big 'freezes'
  13. Won't it just drag a load of nasty low cloud and drizzle off the North Sea, it will be yucky!
  14. Wow!! although it wasn't raining here earlier, I can't believe how dark it was even at 4pm today!!
  15. That is the most active cold front I've seen in ages!! should be an interesting day
  16. Sod's law Original post: https://community.netweather.tv/topic/99056-model-output-discussion-mid-summer-onwards/?do=findComment&comment=4923375
  17. what the heck is that??? I've never seen anything like it!!
  18. Was going to go on a long motorbike ride out today, but the weather is a whole lot worse than was forecast. It's literally like mid Autumn atm, I must have picked the worst August on record to have two weeks annual leave :-(
  19. Isn't it more due to the fact that a lot of NW punters, have possibly had a few glasses of wine before watching the pub run, and are more inclined to hyperbole (I'm guilty!)? It's exciting to see snowmageddon when you are a bit tipsy :-p
