  1. Looks like the Welsh mountains are actually spawning snow showers instead of stealing them. Just goes to show you cannot forecast snow, just the parameters. Can we quote you on that? :-D
  2. Showers popping up all over the place now, maybe it's gonna be one of those types of snowfalls?
  3. Never believe a bbc forecast. Quite a few times it's been snowing heavily for hours and they cannot even force themselves to say 'periods of snow', it's always 'snow showers'. You cannot predict snow with any great accuracy past 12 hours. There will be quite a bit of snow about with this set up, even for the Midlands, we just have to radar watch. And remember............DON'T BELIEVE THE BBC!!.
  4. I'm thinking the same. I'm not gonna let it disappoint me any more than it already has......it can do what it wants :-D
  5. See Shefali isn't giving anything away for tomorrow onwards, the forecast only went to mid-morning. They have the top temp tomorrow as 9'c, but falling. I bet it gets nowhere near that warm anywhere. (BBC's mild bias again)
  6. Just remember folk that in 1990 we got overnight snow over two feet deep, so anything can happen and it will :-)
  7. Well let's just see if we can make it 2 whole years where we don't have lying snow for more than 30 minutes? I might even go an put a bet on it....won't lose then? :-D
  8. I wasn't just referring to that post, it's a general observation. And that smiley doesn't cover up the patronising comment you made either.
  9. Matey, there are rather more bullies than their should be on a public forum where no meteorological qualifications are needed to join, just enthusiasm. I've been on this board now for a round 8 years now and have noticed it getting worse every year, and not just by the dumb' folk like us. I think people forget that there are 3 model threads on this forum and if you feel the need to get away from the intellectually inferior, then you can go to the 'in depth model' thread. So, basically, don't be bullied into silence and not thinking that your point of view is invalid, there are a lot of folk on here who don't get it right even 50% regardless of how revered they are. chin up matey :-)
  10. I love the way half the folk are saying it's the wrong side of marginal and the other half saying it's the right side? Can we stop worrying about where the snow is going to (or not) until we have a few more model runs please? The newbies must be having a mental breakdown??? :-D. I think personally that it's looking on the right side for the majority, for snow, however, that will change and maybe for the better, or maybe for the worse. One thing is for sure, I trust these types of cold spells that pop up in the reliable out of nowhere, much more than chasing easterlies out in FI. Good luck to us all! :-)
  11. Looks like the GFS is coming up with its latest 'Tuts take charts'. I've already braced myself for the downgrades and ordered a fresh supply of Xanax :-D If we get another let down from that model, I think quite a few people on here will have started to wonder whether the GFS' recent upgrade was for the better?

  13. I still feel like we'll get a good dumping in February. I'm not gonna get too p**sed off with it all yet. I'm starting to wonder whether the GFS was updated for the better or the worse? It seems to be lying to us constantly since the new update?
  14. 'Black Bedduth' they called it, on account that it was such a big coal mining area, but now I'm starting to wonder whether it's because it'll never be white? :-(
  15. Nope I watched the damn thing slide past here, If you like, i'll find the episode in the records tomorrow?
  16. Here's 2010's snow in this area, whilst everyone else had over 1-2 feet!!
  17. Stop trying to cheer us all up :-D I have pictures of the 1/4" snowcover here, which evaporated over the weeks. But we actually got an inch of frost!
  18. I remember 1981. My sister and a few mates rolled a snowball from one end of the road to the other (around 200 yrds) then we all hollowed it out and made an 'igloo'. Then they got a 3 year old muggins to go inside and my damn sister jumped on it and her mates! >> :-D Them were the days! :-)
  19. Well, we haven't exactly been spoilt in North Warwickshire since 1990 though. Not 30 days lying snow here in 40 years surely?
  20. Right so the colder air comes back in briefly on Thursday, what a p**s take, just before the mild air pull in to melt the slight frost we'll have. There is something seriously wrong now.....it's not been like this in my whole 37 years on earth!
  21. Trouble is, I don't want severe cold, I just want the 5-7 days average lying snow per year, for this area!! ><
  22. What the hell is wrong with the weather that they can get more snow in Saudi Arabia and Jordan than in the UK, over 1000 miles north?? Right, ok, so we have February left.....please, please, please, please can some god or other, get their act together? :-D
