  1. Not showing up on mine, is that the paid for radar matey? I keep meaning to get that again, but I'd spend far too much time glued to the damn thing :-D
  2. Very odd, there's no precipitation showing over you either??? Can everyone check, maybe it's one of those that spawns directly over us?
  3. That's funny? Light snow falling here from a cloudless sky, it's leaving a dusting even though there's no precipitation showing within 40 miles of here?? Anyone else got that too?
  4. Does show precipitation and wind direction being pushed more eastwards as it hits North Wales, could mean more for the central Midlands. http://earth.nullschool.net/#2015/01/31/0000Z/wind/surface/level/orthographic=-0.98,51.37,3000
  5. Some very nice developments to the northwest near Liverpool/North Wales :-) http://www.raintoday.co.uk/
  6. The dew point were slightly higher in those places last night, so it bodes well. Remember they'll be modified near to the coasts so cannot be taken as being the same this far away from the sea.
  7. whatever happened to global warming causing more severe Arctic outbursts too. I remember us getting snows from northerlies quite often in the 80s and even 90s, not the wishbone effect gobbles up anything of use. And there do seem to be more and more warm sectors about in the mix nowadays, very disheartening, but at least I got to walk in 1" deep snow today, so I'm a bit happier :-) (that's the other thing, the signature of the 'even larger teapot' period was slushy 1" snowfall that melted by mid morning in this part of the word, I really hope we've not gone back to those days. But if we have, can we please have the long, hot, thundery summers back too? :-D)
  8. Ahh I stand corrected, I was looking at the wrong charts. It's marginal in the extreme for us and the freezing level is around 300m. But one never knows :-)
  9. But it shows colder upper moving down?? http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=netwx-sr;sess=
  10. I think everyone is looking at the wrong bit? Look to the big chunks up in Scotland and then look at the 18z precipitation charts, there has been a huge short term upgrade overnight for the chance of snow.!!
  11. The uppers show we're still ok and the uppers are growing colder from the north, so it should all be snow. I can't see a warm sector except out in the north sea??
  12. Hmm? popped up within minutes by the look of things. It'll be gone 12am by the time it gets down here, I hope it's a nice surprise again :-)
  13. Everyone had better get out there and take some pictures, it will all be gone come 1pm as the temps creep up to a dizzy 7'c.
  14. Got an inch here in Bedworth, which was more than I expected. Just goes to show what can crop up at short notice. The models have us bone dry now for the next 7 days, but then last night was supposed to be dry too lol??!!
  15. I'm in bed, but still watching.......damn this weather addiction!!!!! :-D
  16. Right, off to sleep now. Lets the gods do their pathetic attempt of winter in another cold country ,say....Saudi Arabia? I expect to again wake up to a cold, damp, brown coloured garden. Night night all! :-)
  17. Unless it changes direction, it's gonna go straight over Bristol and we may miss the best of the snow as it decays over the Welsh mountains. Just make sure you don't expect too much guys!
  18. Looks like the thing is following the same path as the showers presently crossing the Midlands?
  19. Jo Farrow said that the feature will decay pretty rapidly once it hits land :-(
  20. Very heavy snow falling here atm and lying too! :-o The temperature were just below freezing before it hit too, so it will lie. Hopefully a little bit of excitement later on tonight, but I shan't hold my breath :-D
  21. I think we csn safely write off this 'cold spell' in terms of snow for much of the lower ground of the Midlands. Roll on spring!
  22. That's fine. We want to try for the record of not having any lying snow for 2 years here. :-D (I might be joking....)
  23. I'm starting to wonder whether this is going to be a write off spell? Let's face it, even if it snows it's not gonna settle, I'd rather we had a nice traditional snowfall followed by high pressure, harsh frosts and sunshine. If we fail to get a snowfall that sticks from this set up.........I'm becoming a mildie! :-D
