    The Swindon dog track snow pile still lives as does the Air ballon pub car park patch half way up to Birdlip! Couldn't get a pic this morning as track gate is locked will try and sneak into the area on way home to take that desperately sad picture.

    The Swindon dog track snow pile was still there yesterday allbeit about 2" high i took a photo on the phone which i'll post before this thread dies. Also a small pile remained in the Air balloon carpark halfway up the hill to Birdlip, Glos on Thursday.

    Went through Priddy on the way to Street via the delights of Wookey hole today. Lots of fair sized snow patches on the tops and plenty of drifts ~ 1 - 3 feet in the shade of the walls took some pics but a bit misty so not good quality. Temp ~ 7C

    Snowman here born 06/02/09 down to about 6" high prob gone by the morning. Some patchy snow in shaded area of fields near Highworth also can see some drifts on hills above Junction 15 M4 and at Hackpen hill on way to Marlborough. Alll that will be left to watch soon are the big piles left in the ASDA car park and in the shade of the dog track at Blunsdon. Well if they can have their snow patch monitoring in Scotland why can't we have our version down here.

    Quite a large area is over 700ft and a reasonable amount over 800ft and Cranham/Birdlip approaching 1000ft - as you say enough to make a difference over the last 2 weeks. Stil 2 -3 inches in the shade around my area the rest returned to grass yesterday plus major piles still knocking around from cleared car parks/roads/paths. I'd imagine they'll go fairly soon now there is no further overnight frost due in the immediate forecast.

    Not again yes for the 10 th day out of 11 we have had snow falling here temp ~ 2C only light but there it is .

    Snowing here again boring yawn temp ~ 2C. Still ~ 2 - 3 inches cover in fiels / gardens shade

    Good cover still around here ~ 2-3 inches with some bare patches of course. The hills at Chievley and to Marlborough still look very white from a distance.

    Rain to sleet to snow here temp ~0.6C Most of the snow cover still remains despite rain all day mind you all a bit like porridge now!

    Big flakes now and temp down to 1.3C not settling yet..

    Temp ~ 2.7 here now snowing properly none of that sleet stuff.

    Marvellous Swindon is the new Abingdon whilst not quite snowless only about 2" here today whilst further east 8"+ and now our six fingered friends to the west may get a good covering.

    Big snow flakes blowing in the wind in Swindon temp ~2C Quite momentous as having lived in S England for last 40 years have never seen snow in the 10th month of the year before.

    I was at Southampton University and was playing poker all night i remember it being a bit windy but my room was sheltered from the wind so we did not hear it much. Next day i didn't get up until lunchtime and went to a 2.00pm lecture and was mildly surprised to see all the damage!!
