  1. One of the worst Met Office forecasts ever for this area today? They couldn't have been any more wrong.
  2. Rush2019 It's been quite wet in Wilmslow- seems bizarre that some places not too far away are missing the rain.
  3. Frigid Slightly below average at 850 hPa doesn't necessarily mean 'chilly' though. Just as high 850 hPa temps don't guarantee 'above average' temps at the surface. As always there will be local variation depending on wind direction and sunshine.
  4. More rain- horrendous and much worse than forecast. Sunshine this morning but it was all too good to be true. It really is beyond a joke.
  5. Throwing it down here now after some sunshine this morning- you really couldn't make it up. Not only is the rain always worse/heavier than forecast, but it always seems to rain at some point even on a 'dry' day. By far the worst period of weather I can remember in my lifetime. We really are getting nowhere in terms of the ground drying out. A few hours of sunshine and it starts to dry out, and then it throws it down again and we're back to where we started. If this isn't enough to make someone consider emigrating, I don't know what is.
  6. Only 29.5 hours here so far- an absolute shocker of a month for sunshine. If it carried on this way it would undoubtedly be one of the dullest Aprils on record locally.
  7. Far too cold. It was better than this April sunshine-wise of course. But April should have only occasional frosts- not virtually every night.
  8. Greyhound81 The reason is purely the much stronger sun in April as well as the longer days. The October sun is weakening through the month and later on in the month is on a par with late February.
  9. markyo The light levels this morning were the worst for weeks here while it was raining. Impossible to plan anything outdoors on days like this. Biting cold wind as well. I've just played football this evening in short sleeves and my forearms were still cold at the end of the game. Had enough of this now and enough rain to last a lifetime over these past few months.
  10. Frigid Glad you can find some positives- didn't feel very pleasant to me with that biting wind, even when the sun was out. This morning was atrocious here. Freezing cold wind, constant heavy rain/hail and incredibly dark. I've found today more depressing than a day of constant drizzle.
  11. What an absolute shocker of a day- feels truly horrible in the wind and rain. Some sunshine this afternoon but incredibly suppressed temps given the air mass isn't overly cold. We haven't made it into double figures here.
  12. Can't wait to see the back of this absolutely appalling day. It's a nightmare for the garden with the blossom out or on the way out. Just hope things recover.
  13. cheese The BBC local automated forecasts are shocking nowadays. Met Office are much better but overdo cloud amounts and often underdo the temps I find.
  14. Met. Not sure why looking at the fax charts. No weather fronts across your area after today. Showers can't be ruled out but it looks almost completely dry for your area after today.
