  1. Potentially the perfect set up for us here in Jersey then. Although as you well know, being a little rock 9x5 miles surrounded by sea currently at a barmy 10c, it's very touch and go. As long as the air across the continent is cold enough and we tap in to an E to SE feed, it's game on :)
  2. We currently have a line of very heavy showers passing between the islands of Guernsey and Jersey and thunder has been heard in the distance here in Jersey. Strong and gusty winds too.
  3. Terrifying to watch so one can only imagine what the tenants experienced, feeling wise
  4. The clean up operation here in Jersey is now well underway, although several of our lanes remain impassable. No doubt our emergency and public services (who truly are doing an amazing job) will continue working well into the weekend. Another walk with the bulldogs this morning delivered these images which highlight just how quickly the weather can change ...
  5. This is devastating. Many of the trees on South Hill in St Helier have stood tall and proud for longer than I dare to remember, surviving many a windstorm, until now . No doubt St Helier Parks and Gardens will rejuvenate the area for future generations to enjoy FullSizeRender.mov
  6. Here in Jersey, we've had confirmation this evening that the highest gust recorded on the island was 104mph at the Maison St Louis Observatory in the Parish of St Saviour
  7. Hey Ryan. Please check your DMs for postcode details. Cheers buddy
  8. My daughter and I recently visited the site in St Clement where a tornado caused a tremendous amount of localised damage at approximately 11:45pm last night. Here are a handful of images we took from the area where the main damage occurred ...
  9. A handful of pics from around the island of Jersey as Storm Ciaran finally starts to lose its grip ...
  10. Indeed. It's been terrifying and continues to be so. Unconfirmed reports on social media stating that Jersey Met has just recorded our highest gust so far of 100mph (surpassing 96mph in 1987) and a 9 to 10 meter swell is due to impact our shores in the next hour or so coinciding with a 10.1 meter tide. We are being battered. Not good.
  11. Tornado confirmed. Pentagon is a local builders merchant based in St Clement that had a large warehouse. Wind speed steadily rising as we brace ourselves for the onslaught ...
  12. The wind has been steadily intensifying during the last hour or so. My daughter and I are currently hunkered down in our lounge but dare not venture outside as there's a constant howl, bellowing gusts and increasing crashing and banging. A truly uncomfortable situation to be totally honest.
