  1. Always do well here in Bloxwich . Little bit of a plateau , we had probably 10cm or so this morning , still full cover now . Rain at the minute , but likely to see more snow soon I would think .
  2. I think that I am pretty much in the sweet spot, just north of Walsall , in Bloxwich , 160m. Historically we have often had snow , even when places close by have had rain . Noticeable drop in temperature in the last hour or so .
  3. Not certain exactly where you are Nick but in Walsall town centre it is throwing it down and having just spoken to my wife there is very heavy snow in Bloxwich on the main road out to Cannock.
  4. It really is picking up quite a bit now in Walsall and the sky has certainly filled in. It certainly looks very promising now. Hopefully a few hours of snowfall on the way.
  5. Snowing again here in the centre of Walsall. Moving more towards moderate than light...
  6. Afternoon everybody, long time lurker - very sporadic poster. I think it would be easier to convince my wife I was having an internet affair rather than the fact that I am constantly on here looking for updates! Well we had about one hour of heavy snow here this morning between about 9 and 10 which left a couple of cm's on the ground. Since then overcast but prety much dry. A little confused about later on - radar shows pretty heavy "snow" over north wales, is that heading this way? Anyway thanks for the fun over the last couple of weeks, heres to a bit more than the current "dusting".
  7. Evening everyone. Memorable day here in Bloxwich about 3 miles outside of Walsall. At least a couple of inches overnight with showers on and off all morning. From 3 o clock onwards we have had continual snow which at times has been very heavy. I know we are relatively high up here at about 160m but outside is a true winter wonderland. I am old enough to remember the 70's and 80's and this does compare very favourably. The radar shows us in a clear spot at the moment but yet it still snows... I have no knowledge to comment on what is still to come but perhaps we still have more excitement yet?
  8. Evening everyone. Well here in Bloxwich a couple of miles outside of Walsall it has been a memorable day and continues so to be. Overnight probably 2-3 inches with showers on and off all morning. From 3 oclock onwards we have had pretty much continual snow which at times has been very heavy.. its still snowing now inspite of the radar suggesting we are in a clear slot. I know that we are relatvely high up here about 160m but we do seem to do exceptionally well. I am old enough to remember the 70's and 80's and today definately compares. Have zero meteorology knowledge so can give no explanation but I do know that the hat on the snowman I built with my daughter 6 hours ago now has at least 3 inches of snow on top of it! More to come??
  9. Hi there everyone. Long time lurker thoroughly enjoying watching the snow fall outside my window in the centre of walsall. Looks from the radar as though there is plenty more to come. I am of to the lake district for half term to a place called orton a couple of miles from junction 38 of the M6. I am reliably informed that there is no snow there currently but the forecast for metcheck for tomorrow gives upwards of 25cm of snow for tomorrow. Due to travel first thing am but wonder if anyone has any thoughts as to whether we should try and get up there earlier or perhaps delay till pm?
