  1. Not that much better our side of London - a few brief sunny intervals after 3.00 but the temperature hasn't even reached 15 yet. We've had a pretty dull year so far, with January just about average then a protracted dull spell since. These stats from Reading University show this, along with the very wet March and early May... That's two more than we've had in Reading.
  2. Still waiting for 20C here in Reading - looks like a chance of getting there this weekend at last (had a near miss last Sunday).
  3. I can't help wondering, as we sit here in a month that reminds me of May 2021 (albeit less cold), whether that cut-off low over Iberia could tend to drift northwards with slightly reduced pressure to the north of us and hang around Biscay and the near continent. This would give us a scenario like that of early summer 2021 where we had a reverse NW/SE split with a pretty miserable spell here in the south while the north basked in sunshine.
  4. After some rather unpromising forecasts a few days ago it turned out to be quite a reasonable weekend here, with a warm and sunny Saturday followed by two usable days. Today we had a bright start then cloudier with a brief light shower around lunchtime. Sunny spells to end the day. Maximum 17.9, minimum 10.2. Wind light NW. Yesterday: dry and mainly cloudy with brighter intervals in the morning. Maximum 15.8, minimum 7.3. Wind light SW.

  7. Dull and damp with drizzle in the morning and rain, mainly light, for most of the afternoon and evening. Maximum 12.5, minimum 7.9. Wind light SW.
  8. Early wet snow giving a couple of centimetres on the grass by 8am, the first lying snow here since 2021. Sleet for much of the day, gradually turning into rain with the snow completely thawed by mid afternoon. Maximum 2.5, minimum -1.2. Wind light E.
  9. A chilly day with patchy light rain in the morning turning to sleet for a few minutes at lunchtime then back to rain. Cloudy and dry in the afternoon with brief sunny intervals. Maximum 6.1, minimum 1.2. Wind light NE.
  10. Cold start with early fog soon clearing to leave a dry day with sunny spells. Maximum 10.1, minimum 0.8. Wind light NW. Yesterday: freezing fog lingered until late morning then dry and sunny. Maximum 8.2, minimum -3.7. Wind light SW.
