    Not that much better our side of London - a few brief sunny intervals after 3.00 but the temperature hasn't even reached 15 yet. We've had a pretty dull year so far, with January just about average then a protracted dull spell since. These stats from Reading University show this, along with the very wet March and early May... That's two more than we've had in Reading.

    I can't help wondering, as we sit here in a month that reminds me of May 2021 (albeit less cold), whether that cut-off low over Iberia could tend to drift northwards with slightly reduced pressure to the north of us and hang around Biscay and the near continent. This would give us a scenario like that of early summer 2021 where we had a reverse NW/SE split with a pretty miserable spell here in the south while the north basked in sunshine.

    After some rather unpromising forecasts a few days ago it turned out to be quite a reasonable weekend here, with a warm and sunny Saturday followed by two usable days. Today we had a bright start then cloudier with a brief light shower around lunchtime. Sunny spells to end the day. Maximum 17.9, minimum 10.2. Wind light NW. Yesterday: dry and mainly cloudy with brighter intervals in the morning. Maximum 15.8, minimum 7.3. Wind light SW.

    Early light rain soon cleared, cloudy and warm with sunny intervals in the afternoon, the warmest day so far this year by some margin. Maximum 19.4, minimum 10.7. Wind light NE.
