Showers starting to feed in off the sea in the borders. Hope this is a trend that continues and heads south, because right now its the same old story.... all out to sea

This setup was looking very good last week, but the low is not sinking far enough south. Leaving us with a quick northerly blast (which could bring some showers tonight), then NW.... as the low pulls away.... no chance of showers for the NE. Another disappointment. Getting a deep cold north easterly seems to be a one in 20 year event!

Not looking good for January. That is if big heating bills don't affect you... Looks to be generally mild, windy, changeable, lots of rain. Standard January awaits. I think it will be February before any significant cold affects the UK

This used to be the case. On the east side there would be a bit of wet snow and then rain. However, since around 2009 I have noticed that many more of these warm front bring a more significant period of snow to the east side. No idea why

Showers the NE now staying out to sea as winds have reverted to the NW. Thats it. How cold can it get with snow cover tonight? -1c and falling here...

I can confirm... Snow shield has been broken. Got a decent covering here over the last hour or so. Can't believe some are getting RAIN!!! Keep an eye on this bunch. Will they make it to the coast before the wind changes? Will they intensify?.... Only radar will tell

Showers getting further inland now. Activity in the north heading south..... My snow shower cloud parter is hard at work out at sea, keeping anything well away from me

Right now the ppn is dispersing fast when it hits land. If you are over 5 miles inland, dont expect much

Looks like this could be the most significant snow of this spell (had a few flakes one day). A bit pathetic really! Nothing else behind it for a long time for me, but further south looking better
