    Numerous lightning strikes with amazing loud thunder in horrendous conditions accompanied by howling winds and large hail here along the north east coastline.

    Pretty frequent over here GS 6-8 strikes per/min, looking out to sea.. Easyjet Airbus 319 having a rather difficult time trying to land at Newcastle International airport.

    There was lightning detected from this earlier just a few miles NW of York. Could still produce the odd Sferic . A couple of cells SW of Newcastle are intensifying but no sparks detected as yet.

    Vigorous convection occurring here in the NE, lightning detectors are already showing storms breaking out in Northumberland and North Yorkshire.

    Ello Paul and team, Ive just tried to re-register my radar subscription with my old details but a message saying username/password combination not found. Will I now have to re-register with a new username etc.?

    Three cracks of thunder heard but no lightning observed. Some impressive cloud structure here, even saw pileus cloud in some of the larger Cb's.

    Just had a short sharp (ouch.!) shower, no rumbles of thunder as yet but I can see some large cumulus nimbus in the making just to the north-west of here.
