  1. Interesting start to the day - was -1.1c a short while ago with plenty of frost and ice after yesterday afternoons rain. Then a band of small showers popped up off the coast and moved in, causing freezing rain for a short period and the temp to shoot up to 1c in a matter of minutes! I could see and hear the ice melting off the gutters and dropping onto the conservatory roof below!

In fact, it’s going up so fast my weather station graph can’t keep up with the change, but since starting writing this post, it’s now over 3c. One of the fastest temp rises I’ve ever seen!

I’ll add a photo in a bit of the graph when it’s caught up, in the meantime this was outside just over an hour ago:

    And here is the graph:

  2. A rapid drop in temperature last night as the cold front with its associated squall line passed through at around 2am. Dropped from 10.4c at 1:54am to 7.4c at 2:04am and then 6.5c just another 10 minutes later - not bad!

So jealous of the snow that’s going to fall elsewhere the next day or two. My poor leaky conservatory will turn into a sieve once again once the rain gets going.

Huh but yellow is rain and orange is wind. There is no orange over me.

If you put in the 5 day forecast for your area it shows you there’s a warning for each day and then click on it tells you it’s a wind warning. The amber for SE is a bit east of you.

    Your location:

Just to keep a bit of interest going the GEM pivots Wednesday's low up across Kent.

And ECM moves if further north running along southern coastal counties.

I will take any crumb of hope so thank you 😊

This morning has started sunny and colder, currently coldest it’s been since midnight at -0.3c and a DP of -2.7c.

Good luck today for any snow showers clipping those of you in Norfolk and Suffolk!

We're up to a 40% snow potential in some places now. Upgrade on both the 00Z and 06Z for the SE, still unlikely north of the Kent areas in our region though but there's also the north sea showers to contend with.

I’ll take a 30% chance. Last Monday’s snow was lovely to see falling but I’d like to see a covering.

Early February 2021 was last laying snowfall here, we had falling snow periodically from 7th - 11th February and snow on the ground until 14th. Not bad for far SE (though 2010 was better)

  6. Also no frost here with the strong breeze - currently 0.7c but feeling much colder.

I see there’s regional squabbling again in the model thread. Some saying it’s great at day 9 for snowmageddon (when will they learn) when M4 south is under rain. How they think it’s going to end that way I don’t know, let alone being so confident they start up with the “well it’s great for us” party.
Edit: I note that when someone more southerly mentions it looks great for the north and they just hope it improves for south they still get shouted at!
