  1. lightning and crack of thunder in stanley, co. durham, really muggy.
  2. Its a winter wonderland in the North East, glorious sunchine, freezing cold, loads of snow, shame it will only be here a couple of days.
  3. more heavy spells of snow in stanley, co. durham, im off to wtach the Newcastle Vipers ice hockey tonight and this weather is really appropiate for ice hockey
  4. Looks like the whole of the NE is taking a battering at the moment with good accumulations as far north as ponteland (Rollo), East as Cleadon (TWS) and west as Stanley (me).
  5. well a good snowfall overnight in stanley, co. durham, showers are now very consistent. Some pictures below taken at 9am this morning.

  11. well we have about an inch of snow in stanley durham, really coming down heavy. Below isa link to the Tyne Bridge and Millenium Bridge webcam, doesnt the queyside look nice under snow, keep spotting for the geordie lasses in mini skirts still though and the newcastle united fans walking around with no tops on as they are well hard BBC Newcastle WebCam
  12. heavy blizzard in Stanley Co. Durham Nothing lying but visibility is low, winds are very very strong. Stanley is 200m above sea level, 10 miles south west of Newcastle
  13. flurries hav started in tanley, co.durham. The sky is white, hope a dumping is on the way.
  14. Snow reports on Metro Radio in the North East of England, has become very overcast in Durham and wind is picking up, There is still plenty of ice and snow dusting in Stanley so hopefully it will start snowing here soon, will keep ya posted.
  15. we now have lying snow in Stanley, a bit of hail has helped for the snow to lie, just a dusting but it is lying.

  18. had realy heavy snowfall in Stanley Durham today, two blizzards lasting for about 30mins each, expecting more early tommorrow morning. As previously mentioned before to see the snow in Co. Durham check out the webcam below: http://www.derwentside.org.uk/webcams/webcam5.htm this webca is live streaming if you have broadband. you should of seen the traffic before on it, When it was blizzarding i looked and saw the x30 bus from newcastle, checked again about half an hour later and it was still there (same bus as the same landrover wa sinfront of it).
  19. yeah just behind the swimming baths at the louisa centre - that photo shows the nice storm just hitting you.
  20. oh yeah that photo was taken in north east england in countydurham just outside newcastle. 2 inches of extra snow in thirty minutes 45 schools closing in county durham and tyneside Newcastle Vipers vs Fife Flyers ice hockey match called off oh yeah thunder and lightening with this as well starting to ease off now - signs of sun
  21. Right it is a major storm in north east england - it came rolling over the hills like a dust storm. Nearly all the schools are closing. It has been blizzarding in northumberland for 45 minutes and it has now hit county durham - the worst storm i have seen in a number of years - this is proper snow not the wet stuff - really nice fine snow - great for snowboarding etc. i would say w ehave accumulated an extra 2 inches of snow in 20 minutes. will post a picture of the storm coming over in a few minutes.
