  1. Hi everyone I see that on the latest chart posted on the model output forum that kent gets the snowfall apart from east kent (who switched the snowshield on ) it is still only friday so it may alter
  2. you are so lucky, after this afternoons snowfall which stopped a few hours ago we have not had anymore
  3. the met outlook for us in ramsgate tonight is that we have forecast heavy snow from 6pm until 3am but.......bbc show us with the odd flake occasionally.... your guess is as good as mine !!
  4. The updated 1500 hrs met forecast for Thanet and Dover has us in the amber alert for sunday with heavy snow from 6am to 6pm and then has light snow for the rest of the evening !!
  5. I worked on the railway for thirty nine years and yes , we can have the wrong type of snow. Basically the dry powdery stuff when it happens blows up under the trains and in to the traction motors shorting them out where as the type we usually have (the wet claggy type ) does stay on the ground more and not get blown around
  6. we never learn , its a cardinal sin to tell someone snow is on the way !!!
  7. in answer to paul and you, I would be glad if there was only 2cm on the ground (enough to say it snowed) but the weather will do what it will do and no amount of wishing will make it happen
  8. well that puts us in thanet into marginality, but bbc and meto for ramsgate show light snow all day on sunday
  9. further to my last post re met office forecasting rain for us in thanet, I have just ventured onto the mad thread and apparently there is an iberian low which could just be too close and giving us marginal conditions typical !!
  10. amazing all this talk of snow for the east coast at the weekend and yet the met office have us in down for rain in thanet even with them showing a north/easterly wind, oh well at least I can enjoy the photos of you lucky people that get some snow.....good luck peeps
