  1. Hi Folks, I joined the NW forum in 2005 and in that time I cant remember the GFS struggle or differ so much compared with other models, even within small time frames. If we take both the GEM and ECM 850 at 24hrs both have -10 air at the tip of Greenland. GFS has it 600/700 miles further east. Why such a big difference at this time frame?
  2. Evening folks.. I last logged on a few days ago and it all seemed doom and gloom with milder conditions for the medium range. Just watched the East Midlands BBC weather and they advised that after the weekend it will be turning much colder with an extended cold spell. Sticking their necks out there aren't they? **sorry just seen previous post..
  3. Morning all, Heavy showers in Nottingham (NG5) for most of the morning. Looks like more to come as well
  4. BBC said that there would be snow showers effecting parts of the east midlands but did look like that they would struggle to get to Nottingham. The Radar however show a more organised band working its way inland Unless that's just what I am wanting to see
  5. I think so. If you you look at the GFS sea level pressure charts the centre of the low is moving north by a 10-15 miles from 21:00 until 03:00. Not much admittedly but if your in that 15 miles it makes all the difference...
  6. Well fingers crossed this should last for some time so we should get some snow from the east Sounds bad but can't wait for the Atlantic breakdown in a way (when it arrives). That could be a corker
  7. I work in Beeston. I didn't drive in today, far to dangerous. We had a car smash through the wall over the road today! You have my permision to stay at home
  8. Yep Arnold. We had small flakes but plenty of them, Must have had 2-3cm now
  9. Just for info still snowing in Nottingham NG5 and has been for a while. Radar doesn't show much though
