  1. A quick question for any LaCrosse 2300 (or similar) owners - what sort of battery life are you getting from the wireless unit? The manual is a bit patchy on battery life, it says some strange stuff about a minimum of 6 months but it's not clear on the circumstances or if it's talking about the base unit or the sensors. I started with a couple of re-chargeable NiMH batteries which always lasted 48 hours and no more. In frustration I put in a couple of Alkaline Duracells which were only about 3/4 charged and they've lasted over two weeks so far in the recent arctic air and down to -7C at one point! Does anyone have any longer term experience they could share?
  2. I managed to loose this thread somehow! My station in central Norwich is now up and running and recorded some interesting stuff during the recent cold period. http://www.snow-watch.co.uk/norwich is the url to use if anyone would find it useful, it's great for monitoring those easterlies!
  3. I notice you've got a bit of an Eastern vacancy here in bumpkin land Norfolk! I've a Lacrosse 2300 in (almost) central Norwich which I would have nailed up already but pesky real life keeps getting in the way! http://www.snow-watch.co.uk/norwich I also know of another member of the site in a similarly unfinished installation who lives in Stanfield, Norfolk - 20 miles west of Norwich. The difference between the two is often surprising. Not sure of his name on NW though. http://www.snow-watch.co.uk/stanfield
