  4. Do you think theres a possibility of it not being snow? Still showing as 0 degrees here and pressure of 1021 so I'm hoping snow all the way. Fingers crossed
  5. Doing really well here, I'm very surprised its normally all around me and none here. Not complaining though lol
  6. It's has been lovely watching it snow all afternoon :-) but reading some of these posts sounds like we have not had the main event yet and this has been a starter. It that wishful thinking on my part lol or is there more to come than we've already had?
  7. We don't often do well from the snow in Methley - too low I think but have got 3cm so far and no signs of it stopping :-)
  8. It is only showing me as 37% and I am in Leeds. The forecast on net weather shows me as sleet at best which seems a little strange from what the BBC is showing. Guess I have to wait and see :-)
  9. Really pleased for you Jed elevation has made such a big difference, I am in Methley in Leeds and the best we got was sleet
  10. Guesstimate for me is eeeerrr a few big wet puddles does that count lol All around and yet still so far away
  11. Nice one, it has turned to snow here now but it is vey wet out. It can often be snowing else where in Leeds and miss me EDIT - Picking up now Faster sleet lol

  13. Has it been snowing for long in Huddersfield? It has been showing over me for the last half an hour but nothing fa :excl: lling
  14. Storm Force Lewis, on 23 February 2010 - 18:00 , said: Turning to rain at all levels from 2-3am onwards mate with only the NW staying onto reasonable dew points, isotherm etc.. And northern most parts of Yorkshire. 10123 I think it is a case of wait and see, NAE shows snow throughout and so does the BBC graphics. I do think it will turn sleety for a time or perhaps a little rain before clearing. Meto put us in a "be prepared warning" for Wednesday with sever disruption expected and I doubt they would do it if it rains at 2am on wards. I'm guessing you are basing this on the GFS which I don't think is very good. Such apposing views!!!! will be interesting to see what happens
  15. Be Prepared issued now on met office for next few hours Sleet and snow will become heavier as it spreads northwards tonight, gradually dying out during the first part of Wednesday morning. Temporary accumulations of 2 to 5 cms of snow are expected locally at low levels, with accumulations of as much as 10 cms above 200 metres. The public are advised to take extra care and refer to the Highways Agency for further advice on traffic disruption on motorways and trunk roads. North & West Yorkshire Issued at: 1735 Tue 23 Feb
  16. Precipitation is heavy here in centre of Leeds, but still falling as rain
  17. I have been watching the model chat for some time and I am confused It seems that as soon as it becomes within a relaible time frame "Nailed On" the chat stops when it would be relaible data and moves to chatting about the weather further ahead again. This then arrives into the "Nailed on timeframe" and away we go into the future again. Do members only read the charts for "prediction" ahead and stop when it is more certain? I can kinda understand why the newbies would think that NW always get it wrong when the chat is always about the future, which will change and is usually nothing like the predictions when it arrives. Not having a go guys, I am fasinated by the skill on here to read the charts, just confused why it stops when its within a solid reliable timeframe.
  18. Thank you John for taking the time to do this, it really helps the learning process to see what information you used to make your forcast. I just wanted to ask if you had time would it be possible for you to provide the same for just Thursday/Friday when it is in a more reliable time frame? I want to print both sets out to study and see if I can see the changes and understand what caused the changes. I have been following NW for years now and may never be able to read the charts but I want to keep trying, one day it may make sence Cheers
  19. Now that would be exciting Do you mean some places in yorkshire starting by 9am? (Leeds)
