  1. Some (not dangerous) spectacular storms would be good for a change! Decent storms have been getting so illusive over the years, especially after heatwaves. Also no 40C this year plz. It would cost £15-17/day not £5/day as it cost last year on the old tarrif.....
  2. For my part of Leeds, 2010 produced about 7 inches of snow over several falls. I don’t think a sustained event to drop over a foot like in days past will happen easily again, unless it’s a once in 100 year snow event.
  3. No more snow! Working away in Carlisle, Monday-Wednesday. So don't need the A66 to be shut again as the M6-M61-M60-M62-M1 route is very unpleasant. Especially after the horrid stressful job there. I don't know how the A69 route copes with snow, only used it once when I was in Newcastle and heading to Glasgow after.
  4. Hopefully snow coming off roofs doesn’t cause too many issues. This snow is the worst for that.
  5. Roads are clear. Lovely snow scenes around Mayo Ave/Manchester Rd in Bradford. Plenty of icicles, just a lovely winter scene.
  6. Work are sending me to a call in Bradford so lets see how bad the roads are. Apparently in Bradford it's not bad, I called the customer and checked.
  7. It looks nice here, for now. It'll go slushy fast, though it's not coming off the cars yet. Trying to find out what work would like me to do.... I'd go to Bradford but i've no clue how bad the roads are to the centre.
  8. Looks to be about an inch on the shed and garage roof here. Snow is steady and looks heavy but it's those small flakes. Best thing is this is the right kind of snow that should clean the solar panels when it slides off them. They need a good clean after the long dry summer last year.
  9. Starting to settle on the road outside my house now. Long way to go but it'll be an interesting night.
  10. I wonder if i'm too far east? Would be nice to see the 1995 Yorkshire dump to be beaten at long last but that will take another one in 50 year torrential rainstorm to snow event to repeat itself.
  11. Roofs here are starting to turn white again. Ironically i could've gone to Bradford but I'll go tomorrow and save the dashcam footage.
  12. Leeds city centre is more or less clear on the paths and roads, for what I can see. Looking on the cameras at home in Crossgates and it is sticking to some surfaces but depths are minimal. Pic from garden light facing west.
  13. So it’s meant to ramp up later? This current stuff will wash the salt off the roads as it’s just melting.
  14. If the snow in Leeds continues like it is, it won’t settle. It needs to get a lot heavier to start settling.
  15. Have noticed the radar shows the PPN loosing intensity around this area as it moves up. I assume that will change this afternoon? Light snow here not settling. Anyways, I am heading out to do calls as I have to. Might do the Bradford job this afternoon on purpose.
  16. Hopefully more details come clearer with timing today and tomorrow. Got part jobs at sites in Bradford and Leeds to do and I so don’t want to throw in snow chaos to the travel, given the hills in Bradford. Certainly keeping the radar app handy. It’s saved me so many times in the past.
  17. Ahh the fun button. I do that anyway, the car will drive itself at idle in snow without moving. Weight is too biased to the rear. Keeping an eye on the radar on Thursday. If it looks nasty i'll see what work say.
  18. I'm keeping an eye on things closely, given I drive for a living. Hopefully signs are evident of how bad it'll be on Thursday morning. There's a risk for workers to be stuck as alot don't believe or know it could be potentially bad.
  19. An inch stops this horrid company car of mine.. a Peugeot 308SW full of engineering equipment in the back. No matter what I do, the front wheels will loose grip. Even in 2nd.
