  1. What's the likely range of gusts for Leeds? I know we'll not be in the worst of it but I have solar on the west facing side of the roof...
  2. It felt alot colder just now when I emerged from an underground car park in Leeds to drop off keys. Cold rain with what looks like sleet in the mix.
  3. Work are sending me to Newcastle today. Having to go via Harrogate as A1M is closed at Wetherby. Will see how bad it is on the way home!!
  4. My heating has been used sporadically over summer for 30 mins to an hour so I can circulate the water round and not have it sit or the pump to develop issues.... It's on a thermostat anyway and will come on when the house cools down enough.
  5. It's definitely a preference and anything hot and humid isn't one of mine. Mostly for health reasons that may also force me avoid the icy cold weather more too now As uncomfortable as it may be, the summer heat does give us the lovely edible things like these enormous figs from the tree in my back garden. That in itself is one of the nice things of Summer.
  6. What's the storm potential for next weekend, specifically the Sunday? I'm working outside at a football match in Leeds and I can't dry my uniform for the following work week.
  7. What's the rain potential with the heatwave? I have a sash window and I usually leave the A/C hoses mounted in the adaptor and close the window on it. Trouble is when storms happen - it leaks in under the adaptor.
  8. I've got a portable a/c, it's certainly been the best thing in the world at the moment.... Electric wise, it's added £20 to the bill since last Saturday - I have 2KW solar too which lowers the daytime consumption.
  9. It's been a cracking spell of weather. Whilst it's not my favorite thing in the world, it's still nice to see most people enjoying it. Hopefully the coming storms are not too disruptive. Been debating with myself about getting whole house ventilation fitted to the upstairs landing ceiling and roof to help draw out the heat.
  10. Is this the sort of weather that is likely to increase ozone levels if rush hour traffic increases this coming week?
  11. Outside, I find keeping the fleece on is more comfortable than the heat of the sun on skin, though it does trigger too many people doing that for some reason. Indoors I use a/c during the day but switch to an adapted bathroom vent fan overnight to draw in air from outside.
  12. I see Liverpool Airport has hit 30ºC, according to the top 20.
  13. I'm looking forward to this upcoming short spell of Summer. Since getting the Asthma diagnosis and starting the preventer, the weather has been too kind..... Amongst other things, I need to see if heatwaves (more specifically plume type high humidity heatwaves though) still trigger breathing issues.
  14. Looking forward to fresher weather. Thursday was horrid, Friday was slightly better and today is quite nice so far. Got diagnosed with Asthma 2 days ago and promptly managed to set it off with the high humidity, pollen, traffic pollution or whatever it was... i'm new to it and still finding out what triggers it.
  15. Was it 2015 that had a really hot spell early on in Summer? I remember it reminding me of being in California as the humidity wasn't overly high.
  16. Beware the Arctic Dome xD! This cropped up in Leeds Live and Yorkshire Live yesterday...... 'Arctic dome' set to hit UK today with snow warning and freezing temperatures expected 'until Easter' - YorkshireLive WWW.EXAMINERLIVE.CO.UK We may have seen the last of the recent warm weather
  17. I was gonna offer it a sacrifice to draw it here. Not sure If I should offer it the boiler or air con unit....
  18. I have a few saved low pressure sodium streetlight heads and a sleeve for a column. Been tempted to find a used column from the web and mount my own in the back garden. I'm sure the neighbours won't mind too much...XD!
  19. I'm in the mindset of ''if it can happen in any region, it'll happen here eventually''. Snow watching is the winter equivalent of storm watching. This is still just as important:
