    We just had an excellent week in the Dolomites. Despite the warm 850s and high pressure the snow generally held up well all week and the only day it became very soft was Saturday. I think a combination of being away from the hottest temperatures and the still relatively short days kept melting on the pistes to a minimum.

    We are off to the Dolomites next week but it is looking very warm considering it's the end of Jan. Hopefully the snow holds up.

    Was snowing heavily when I woke up. It's now eased off or may be a bit of rain/sleet. Pavements have a few white spots, roads are clear, but grass/cars/trees have a cover.

    My trip to Flaine in two weeks now looking much better! Hopefully we'll be able to ski everywhere and into some of the lower valleys.
