    At our school most of the time the closure is dictated by the bus companies - as the majority of our students come in by the bus if they're not willing to bring them school shuts. It doesn't help that the council doesn't grit the hill or road up to school!

    Just heard there's been hail near to Bishopthorpe, York Sunny here but can still hear it rumbling away

    Woken by my 6 week old son for a feed at 2.30am and was disappointed at what sounded like rain but on closer inspection by the hubby it turns out it's snow! Have a new covering which looks like at least in inch - measure in the morning- and now there's more. Here's hoping hubby's school is closed again tomorrow :o

    Getting lightning every few mins here in Tadcsater, keeps knocking the power out - highly amusing with the year 7 class next door who gasp every time it happens! Torrential rain too.

    Well I'm very fair and so is my husband - we stood outside for a good 5 hours yesterday and both of us now have pink faces!

    I came home to find just over an inch of lying snow and snow lying on the A64 - but now its absolutely chuck it down with rain

    Snow is heavier now and bigger flakes - just been out for petrol and just over a cm so not that much unfortunately here's hoping we get a fair chunk tomorrow

    Not much happening in Haxby - its still snowing but its incredibly wet and not laying so I've been for a drive! Got to Bilbrough Top on the A64 and as it was laying I thought I best come home - hope it keeps it up! Infact anywhere outside and West of York Ring Road seems to be doing ok
