  1. Derbyshire county council traffic cameras, from the southern end of Derbyshire at willington, to the north at cat and fiddle: https://apps.derbyshire.gov.uk/applications/traffic-cameras/traffic-cameras.asp
  2. Nottingham Post is onto the weather forecasting again Norweigan snow bomb could bring chaos to UK in days - Nottinghamshire Live WWW.NOTTINGHAMPOST.COM The Troll from Trondheim looks to bring chaos to British shores this week
  3. A little bit blowy, but nothing severe- or justifying any weather warnings so far. Any heavy rain that looks like its heading this way on the radar seems to split with the heavy stuff going to either the north, or the south, or it seems to fizzle out before it gets here
  4. Weather apps are still having none of the snow, despite the stories cropping up in my news feeds, such as this "Weather maps show exact areas hit by two 'blizzards' next week as snow expected within days" Weather maps show exact areas hit by two 'blizzards' next week as snow expected within days - Nottinghamshire Live WWW.NOTTINGHAMPOST.COM The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice across parts of Scotland and northern England on Sunday, but it's next week's forecast that has people talking Meanwhile outside its crisp, sunny all be it a little cool
  5. No signs of any weather wanrings, and the BBC forecast app also isnt showing any signs of a major snow event, yet the model output thread is a sea of ecitement
  6. I know it was leaning more towards the low probablity, but the weather warning was no ore than a damp squib, ithe rivers are high, its been wet but no more so than any other rainy day, puddles yes - surface water flooding no, just lots of stuff on local media ( and hence picked up by news feeds) with "live blogs" about the rain. Apparently we are facing a wall of snow as well (?) if the same news sites are to be beleived.
  7. So whats the outlook the southern end of Derbyshire/North west Leicestershire? just a few showers?
  8. I would be surprised if this hit my neck of the woods, in South Derbyshire/Leicestershire unless it brings down main power lines causing electrical issues in the national grid. As for trees being in full leaf, in areas affected by high winds combined with the very soft and waterlogged ground could cause severe problems
  9. Not much happening in Derby at the moment, although a few events that were due to take place this evening have been cancelled due to the danger to life weather warnings that have been issued/ spread on social media
  10. Distant rumbles and thats where it stayed, the radar looked promising, but as it approached it seemed to start splitting, one lobe of heavy rain ( and presumably thunder/lightning) went to the north, and one to the south. It looked like there would be some heavy rain on the radar - but that was somewhat underwhelming - nothing but a few heavy splodges. Going to pop out now to water the garden
  11. Near breedon a n the hill, looking roughly towards East midlands airport can hear rumbling in the distance, and it's not the download festival this time as that finished yesterday
  12. Another miss? or a hit? Purely from my point of view, i would put money on it heading slightly to the west again
  13. Still nothing here, the blob on the radar needs to shift eastwards - just a bit , but its going the wrong way
  14. It was looking good, but the radar has it too far west - again, but only by a fraction. Is this it, or will things shunt a little further east?
  15. I've got the download festival at Castle Donington just down the road from me, Ave a few chunky black coffee moving in. are they about to get drowned at download, or will it skip to the west again?
  16. Thought it was going to be something special, Wednesday was just a slushy mess, Thursday the slushy mess thawed further, this morning however there was some heavy snow. Didn't last though, now the sun is out the sky Is mostly blue, and the grass is green with just a few tiny melting patches of slushy snow in the hedgerows. I don't know what it is, but any interesting weather always seems to miss my area, be that snow or thunder.
  17. I havent got a clue where all of this is comming form, butm y news feeds are full of stuff like "Beast from the east set to return" "4 inches of snow ever hour" "could see whole towns cut off without power" This is a link to one ust such story : https://www.independent.co.uk/weather/uk-weather-beast-from-east-snow-b2280593.html
  18. Milder muck is about right. I much preffer cold crisp and above all clear sunny skies , yes it may be cold but go out and enjoy the sunshine as oppsoed to sitting in all day as its dull, dark, mild and damp or wet. And on to of that footpaths / paths are frozen solid instead of a gloopy muddy mucky mess Same with Snow on the ground, as long as the roads are relativly clear then the whiteness of it covers up the dull dead browns and greys of winter - plus as its white and reflects what little lght we get it makes everyting a little brighter as well
  19. Horrible oevercast, damp and cool. missing the cold, crisp, but sunny and bright weather already
  20. Nothing here, the weatheer radar seems to show something coming towards me, but as with all intersting wather it appears to split and the weather misses.
  21. I'm sure I heard a BBC weather forecast on the radio this morning saying that temperatures should start warming up from monday
  22. Very long term lurker , and rare poster on here, but one thing that does seem to repeat is that the models seem to promise the world in terms of a paradise for cold/snow lovers, but then back peddle, before re building the cold - but not as severe. p.s what happened to Mr Crazy Snowfan?
