  1. Rather short lived warm spell with most GFS members going for a cool outlook with temps well below normal.
  2. Temps widely into single figures, and snow over the high ground in the north I would think.
  3. Something else brewing for next weekend, if GFS is to be believed Sorry summer son you just beet me to it.
  4. Agree with you 100%,the block looks to strong for it to just slip away, I know the cross model out puts are saying a different thing, but I've still got confidence in the HP to be a bit more unpredictable
  5. Now that we've got a Scandy high showing by next weekend, and maybe a Greenland/NE block to look forward to, what's the betting that we will have northern blocking, and weather coming in from the N N/E well into March April time.
  6. Just love to see those light green hues in the middle of a high pressure (500 geo pot), indicating some serious cold.
  7. See the BBC starting to mention "turning a lot colder towards the end of next week"
  8. Svalbard slowly coming out of its winter darkness. http://longyearbyen.kystnor.no/
  9. Fingers crossed lets hope for a plunging SE jet, with no energy going over the top, witch has been the problem for most of the winter
  10. Good to see something of interest after a zonal spell was mentioned. Still some way to go before everything falls into place, let's hope this time it materialises. Like others have mention we need a lot more energy going south under the block, hopefully tomorrow things will be a bit clearer.
  11. Brilliant post, even a slow dull person like myself understood it. Just a little concerned with the amount of jet energy going over the top of the high
  12. Not wishing to get to technical now, but didn't someone say that it isn't a real GH unless it has green and yellow colourings on the 500mb charts
  13. Good chance well see something wintery on the IOW if that chat is anything to go by
  14. Snow starved IOW is very soggy at the moment, hoping for a blizzard in the next couple of hours .
  15. Thanks for the reply Alexis, lets hope we see the 510 heading in from the east on future runs
  16. Thanks for the reply Nick. I will now take a back seat as the forum goes into meltdown.
  17. Just a couple of points that has me at bit worried, the first one ,is there to much energy going over the top of the scanty high, and also the south coast / SE only seem to be flirting with only the 528 dam, hardly a big freeze.
  18. Not wanting to name anyone just in case I miss quote, but a couple of weeks ago someone said that you'll have to have the Meto on-board, when ECM & GFS were singing from the same song sheet. As it happened the Meto was on the money. is the situation the same this time round only its GFS out on its own, or is it that its preferable to have GFS on board and not a necessity. Many thanks. Pete IOW
  19. All though a lot of scatter after day 10, a trend defiantly developing, Surly nothing can go wrong. A very HNY to everyone from the King lurker.
