  1. Just saw a flash out towards Kent and a new strike has appeared. Always seems to find a way to avoid being overhead for me this year
  2. Just saw another extremely brief funnel if only my brother had better vistas The dark area behind it from here almost looks like a wall cloud
  3. Absolutely stunning structure here in NW Kent this is the same system that produced the funnel cloud earlier
  4. There could easily be more funnels developing looking at the skies over NW Kent - while not translating into storms, there’s definitely a lot of upward motion in this shallow convection edit - well, looking at the radar it looks like convection is finally winning out.
  5. Just saw a funnel cloud in Swanley - spent all my time getting everyone here to come and see it I forgot to photo it. This is it roping out
  6. A lot of Ac around this morning. Always nice to see evening if storms not seemingly in offing.
  7. Friend of mine snapped this funnel cloud in Medway about half hour ago Feel compelled to say rights on the photos reserved as they’re not mine
  8. Rash of thundery downpours already well underway - to say it’s frustrating that yet again my little corner of the country is pretty much going to get nothing - for reasons that seem unfathomable - is an understatement
  9. UKV has consistently been showing a line of torrential downpours swinging across London and the SE this evening…
  10. Models seemingly backed right off any realistic potential for tomorrow night. For southern areas Wednesday is looking interesting with the potential for widespread heavy and possibly thundery showers.
  11. Seeing the potential for some overnight storms across C/S England tomorrow night into the early hours of Wednesday. GFS and NMM disagreeing where peak instability will be (NMM favouring more central and somewhat northern areas while GFS preferring further south) but several hundred J/Kg CAPE could see some storms in the offing.
  12. Not sure if it’s a temporary blip but I’ve noticed a few red dots suddenly springing to life on radar across the SE
  13. Am going to put it out there and say I think we could see some more storms ignite around here soon, drifting NE. Can’t help but think we may be a breeding ground
  14. Struggling to make sense of what, if anything, may happen through this evening. There’s a lot of Ac/AcCas in the sky at the moment and if I had no benefit of models/radar would say it looks conducive for storms. Still very warm and humid with a 24C/17C temp/dp spread
  15. Nothing here so far. Can’t work out if the cold front has been through yet but it’s still as warm and incredibly humid as it was earlier - current temp/dew point split is 24C/17C slightly encouraged by all the storms near the Channel Islands but the lightning again seems reluctant to head our way
  16. Across the south at least, looks as if the sky has had a power cut… shame
  17. Trying to listen for thunder and there’s these two selfish (insert preferred expletives here) chainsawing - do one!!!
  18. Wow did I post prematurely. Has been turning darker to my west during the past 20 mins - but as you say the radar has gone from nothing to three heavy downpours in one 5 min update
  19. Models have regularly shown any activity weakening as it approaches the SE - UKV springs to mind. At the moment it’s on the money, sadly! Electrical activity is also beginning to regenerate further to the south of the line while further north it’s fading - bugger!
  20. Sun is trying to poke through here to hopefully give a bit of renewed heating ahead of that band running up through Hampshire/Sussex northwards.
  21. Looks like my area is a breeding ground for Essex/EA. Only hope is the stuff brewing in the Channel actually starts moving inland - lacking any sort of explanation as to why there seems to be a complete storm shield along the south/southeast coast. One thing is for sure - it is incredibly warm and humid! The air temperature/ dew point split is currently 25C/18C!!!!!
