My god that was a storm! Had to walk home from the bus stop in what I can only describe as monsoon rain...comfortably warm but boy, did I get wet!! The drain covers were bubbling water and the cars had to drive down the centre line on the hill, due to the 4ft wide river either side Constant lightning and massive booms of thunder - really seemed like an apocolyptic scene... Sure wont forget this evening in a hurry! Still rumbling away here - am hungry for more!

Important question folks.... I plan to drive down from Nottingham to Wokingham this evening, setting off around 6pm Now.....do I go all the way down the M1 onto M25 then M4 - motorway all the way Or.......do I risk the shorter route and come down past Towcester, oxford etc and risk the Chilterns - then M40 Motorway & dual carriageway (s) My fate is in your hands T -
Right, looks like I will make my plan to stay in Wokingham till Tuesday An extra night with the other half.............oh well, I'll live lol Lets just hope I make it down there Saturday evening! Never thought I'd say this but at times like this I love being a part-time Southerner

Hi Guys, long time no see I have to do a bit of planning for the weekend so any pointers would be handy. I plan to drive down from Nottingham to Wokingham Saturday evening - should I bring a flask of soup & a shovel eh? just in case the front does indeed stall.... Then my plans are to drive back up early Monday morning - a wise move? or should I make contingency plans to delay my trip back till Tuesday?? I know there is still alot of uncertainty, but any tips will be welcome.
