  1. Yep, raining again. I went for a walk to see the heath fire damage that is only around 200 meters from where we live. Fortunately,I suppose, the rain is a welcome dampener on the burnt ground. The paths are just so muddy again, when I thought they were finally drying out! Dorset heathland fires: Sixth incident in four days WWW.BBC.CO.UK Crews tackle a blaze near Corfe Hills School in Poole on Tuesday evening.
  2. Same here with the washing. Put it out for a couple of hours, then brought it in thinking we were in for a moderate shower. Turned out still dry, even though the radar showed otherwise.
  3. We have fortunately missed out on any showers so far today. Spells of sunshine making it feel quite pleasant this morning. Now feeling a bit cooler with a breeze.
  4. Dry again this morning. Looked at the radar and have risked putting washing on the line. First time this year, especially as the garden is slow to get sun and warmth being North facing. Temp is 16.7C so feeling mild.
  5. Sun Chaser This makes me think of being on a car journey, as a child, saying “Are we nearly there?” And the answer was yes not far now. But it still seemed ages before we got there. I’m hoping brighter days will eventually appear too.
  6. I’m so impressed with the Icelandic authorities that they straight away get to work with the excavators building new berms etc to protect property and utility services. I know they are well prepared for this sort of scenario, but can you imagine in this country they would all still be standing around deciding what to do!
  7. IanCD Welcome to the forum. Most members are friendly, as far as I know! Hope your flooding has receded now and you have had blue skies today. Seems we have to make the most of it before the rains come again later in the week.
  8. matty40s Where have you found this information?
  9. keithlucky Oh, that is a very sad sight
  10. TwisterGirl81 I know the feeling, and I wouldn't say I usually suffer with SAD. I can't remember having a winter so grey and wet before, but maybe I just have a selective memory.
  11. Mapantz I was wondering the same thing. But maybe that band of rain will move across to us and then become stationary. Apart from the odd day it has been mostly grey, rainy and mild so far this year. Really looking forward to spring and summer now.
  12. A miserable wet, grey day today. Got out for a walk early afternoon in the lighter rain. Lots of big puddles and grass muddy again. The water table must be very high. We had a few dry days and I thought everything was drying out. Several hours of rain and it's back to floods, where the ground can't drain quick enough.
  13. @jy Glad everyone was ok. It’s good to have blue skies and sunshine again but it does make it more risky for driving when the sun is low in the sky.
  14. @Paul Thanks. I have just seen the reply arrow at the bottom of your post. That makes sense.
  15. Just testing this to see if it works for me. Okay, so it only quotes the text that you highlight? You have to copy the whole post?
  16. Certainly sounds extremely windy outside at the moment. Windiest it’s been since living in this house for the last 5 years. Just heard something go crash outside. Some crazy people have put their bins out already for collection in the morning.
  17. Will it snow here? Haha, just to annoy Beka. I would like to be wrong, but looking at the proposed route of the precipitation I think it will stay in the channel. Getting colder here again though. 1.1C at the moment, with clear skies.
