  1. And I thought I was bad with just a glass of wine. it is however red, 14% Shiraz. Luverly! No idea about my liver either but as I usually have a glass of red every night maybe not so good. LOL. Not worrying as storm might get me before the liver does.
  2. Just found this for West Sussex. Fri 14th Feb - No gritting taking place tonight in this wet weather http://www.westsussexhighways.org/pages/winterroads … #GritterTwitter #West Sussex Hahahahahaha. no defo no gritting needed. The sea will salt the roads for them.
  3. Winds risen dramatically in about 20 mins here. Check out the chart on CHIMET> http://www.chimet.co.uk/%28S%28kwqz4uqukavfyy551nbihu2j%29%29/wind.aspx Looks like the fun begins for my area, or it could just be a squall line crossing the area.
  4. Looks like the rain got into my weather station. if not I need to WORRY! It is currently reading 38C. Please tell me, should I believe it?
  5. Jason, I would have liked to click Like This for the post. However as that wind chart for 00:00 onward tomorrow shows an 80mph winds over me then I am not sure I like THAT! I don't think I want to be in that purple area for the winds. Can I opt out please? And YES, those charts have finally got me worried.
  6. I wonder! Are they getting worried about the 2015 elections. Would they just say this is just exceptional one in a 100 year weather if they had been elected this year? Knightrider said. "Who's getting worried yet?" Not me. well not YET anyway.
  7. That happened in '87. Went from very cold to warm in space of an hour. I stress this WONT be like '87 storm though, just a feature of low pressures coming from warmer latitudes.
  8. Me too snow raven. Hubby will think I am mad as I WILL be watching the Bognor webcam until high tide has passed at least.
  9. Not sure about that "ticket restrictions removed until close of service" part. Looks like they are planning to close early.
  10. Hi Icene. I would say that is a good itinerary for today. Tried to take the dog out about 2:30pm yesterday. Door opened, he stepped back and dug his heels in, tail down and ears back. LOL. Had to wait until it was dark to walk him as it had quietened down then but he didn't like the heavy rain combined with the strong winds earlier. Had to drag him out this morning again. We appear to be getting a small window of lighter rain soon and only F6 gusting F7 at the moment so he may go out for the last time around 2:30 today. After that he will be let loose in the garden on his own. He does do his business pretty quickly in this weather. LOL.
  11. It WILL be much windier. Once the storm arrives but that wont be until around 7-8:00pm in your area with the worst of the winds through the night.
  12. You could save yourself a drive and watch a good webcam. Bognor one is good from the pier. http://www.bognorregisbeach.co.uk/live
  13. Inshore water forecast for my area. I always hate it when they put violent storm 11 for inshore!! Looks like being a bit rough later. Maybe. North Foreland to Selsey Bill Strong winds are forecast For coastal areas up to 12 miles offshore from 0600 UTC Fri 14 Feb until 0600 UTC Sat 15 Feb 24 hour forecast: Wind Southerly 5 or 6, backing southeasterly 6 to gale 8, then veering southwesterly gale 8 to storm 10, perhaps violent storm 11 for a time later. Sea State Moderate or rough, becoming very rough or high, perhaps very high for a time later. Weather Rain then squally showers. Visibility Moderate or poor, becoming good, occasionally moderate. Wight Gale warnings - Issued: 0945 UTC Fri 14 FebGale force 8 increasing severe gale force 9 imminent, veering southwesterly and increasing violent storm force 11 soon
  14. LOL. Accept that he loves you a lot! That is worth more than any storm. You will probably get it wild enough overnight anyway.
  15. 70 mph inland is a lot worse for the effects than the same on the coast because the coastal areas are more used to such winds and by now anything that is going to be flattened this year will most likely already be down on the coast. Be careful folks and fortunately for our area the worst of it is likely to be overnight.
  16. Walked the dog earlier. He didn't want to go out as it was already gale force 8 and heavy rain. I opened the door, he backed up, tail down and ears back! Had to coax him out with a boot (a gentle one ) shoving his backside. We were out five minutes as he did his business in record time then turned for home, .... much to my relief. It is already horrible out and the worst of the wind and rain has yet to come. http://www.bognorregisbeach.co.uk/live A good webcam of the beach at Bognor, likely to be interesting at high tide tonight 23:25.
  17. February 9th and on the South Coast here today I have found greenfly on my roses! Couldn't believe it! Is this a record? Also saw a bumblebee out and a ladybird having a walkabout.
  18. Hello Lottie, another SACRA member I see. You must be as sick of the rain with no snow as I am. I have daffodils, crocus, and even azaleas and still some of last years flowers still blooming in the garden. Crazy weather. Not winter, just a very long autumn!
