  1. pickys! Summerhouse (Yesterday pm) Pretty please take me out again? Gates to Thornton Park Mad dog! Snaw still blowin' aboot. Some nice drifts.
  2. Back from walking in the park with the dog. Difficult to judge but snow dept probably about 8" with drifts up to waist high. Dog loving it! Pics later.
  3. Sounds hairy and that is some depth at West Calder. Glad you home safe.
  4. We had a few epic sessions of thundersnow yesterday. Bonkers weather! Gone a bit calmer since teatime built well pleased for a Feb/March event. Total about 6.5 inches.
  5. Hats off to Fife Council, not only keeping the roads cleared but our brown and green wheelies got emptied yesterday. Been artic here with virtually non stop snow all afternoon. Must have at least an inch on the paths I cleared this morning.
  6. It could be arranged Right, I'm off before I cause more trouble. Need to make the dinner
  7. No, popped in to see how you guys were doing. Lot of years ago mum and dad retired to St. Austell so have a bit of an interest. Thought I mention the high tide dangers but a bit banter and winding up is all good. We've just had an intense shower, wild, horizontal and almost whiteout conditions. But we are tough, we can take it
  8. Had lull earlier but getting another horizontal pasting just now, can just about see the house on the opposite side of the road. Far more intense showers than yesterday.
  9. I've got 6" of snow here, could always do with a bit more if you guys aren't tough enough to handle it
  10. Put this in the Scotty thread but worth a mention here for you guys. Full moon is tomorrow (2nd.) with highest spring tides a day or so later. There could be a significant storm surge on top of large waves and high tides. Please, please stay safe on the coast and don't do anything stupid. A large wave full of gravel and cobbles is like a cement mixer and if you get caught out or swept into the sea there is risk of serious injury or loss of life. Have fun but be careful and take heed of police or coastguard warnings.

  12. This is just nuts! From virtual whiteout to bright sunshine in 2 minutes.
  13. Point of interest for anyone on the East coast. Full moon tomorrow (2nd) and highest spring tides a day or so after. With these easterlies there could be a substantial storm surge on top of high tides and waves. Please, please stay safe and don't do anything stupid. A large wave full of gravel and cobbles is like a cement mixer. Very serious risk of injury or loss of life if swept out into water around 5C. Snow back on again, think today is worse than yesterday
  14. Tried to take the dog out in the car, got about half a mile, turned at the first roundabout and came back. Whiteout conditions with extremely poor visibility with snow blowing off the fields over cleared roads. Conditions totally crackpot for 1st. March. Some of the smaller villages and isolated farms will be cut off. Just read yellow warning for east coast extended to Monday.
  15. Been out clearing the paths. Calling it in at a level 5" (13cm). Drifts at side of house about a foot. Still getting some good flurries but there's a wee bit thaw on when the sun breaks through. Feels good out there as long as you're moving.
  16. Yet another shower complete with thunder clap a few minutes ago. Wild night with high winds, snow, lightning and the full works. Stay safe everyone, it ain't over yet
  17. having probs getting full links to work. Off to bed, will try to sort it tomorrow
