Might be the St Georges mushroom that grows in Spring, usually April and can grow in large patches so usually once you find one there will be more in that area, but needs rain and mild damp weather so not around every year and by May it's growing season will be just about over, edible and prized in places like Italy. Not saying you should eat it, but I used to go foraging for this fungi years ago, I would suggest you do a google search to identify it.
