  1. Yes you may well be right there, I think that like us they had a colder Oct/Nov. Be interesting to see the winter stats when they come out.
  2. A chart of great beauty, would certainly produce the goods in early March in this near perfect easterly set up.
  3. Seems to me that a dumping of snow is becoming an exceptional event at any time, be it March or in a Winter month proper.
  4. Yes, I would think that much of continental Europe will have had a colder winter than average, but I bet that it will be the British Isles that will stand out as being the only place in Europe that has been well above average. November is not a winter month of course, but both October and November were in fact cold in the UK.
  5. Winter continues on unabated though in the Balkans,Greece and Italy on the ECM 12z. Surprise, surprise! Still time for upgrades I'd say, but what on earth can the UKMO be thinking, no more middle grounds please!
  6. Well I wonder if we can get a bit of consistency from the ECM? Next Monday looks to be even milder there.
  7. The worry now is that the effects of the SSW might turn up when we don't want them, so too late and just give us a cold spring. But if the models can't agree at T144, what chance do we have at T384? Zero!
  8. Thats true...What Winter is over? Most of us never had a winter, unless you call a few frosts a winter? I think that the Dec-Feb CET figures will confirm this ever warming trend.
  9. I was just about to post them two charts myself, its a joke all this chopping and changing at D6, I mean there never seems to be any agreement this winter between the models even in the shorter term, them charts are miles apart.
  10. All of March and April to go yet, although I agree that winter proper is now over, anything from now on is strictly spring snow even if a heavy fall of snow could certainly still happen.
  11. I could still handle a very cold and snowy early March but it would have to be worth it, say up to about mid month. After that I would like things ideally to warm up.
  12. Yes, I was just thinking to myself big differences there, if UKMO confirms then we are looking at a very mild week coming up, in fact that chart looks about as warm as you can get in late February.
  13. Probably the best chart of the week there from the GEM, IF, your still looking for a bit of potential for an early March easterly.
  14. Same here, thought I'd go out in the sunshine earlier in springtime attire, freeeezing, seems colder tonight than over the weekend, its not though, must be the wind chill and clear skies.
  15. Lovely sunshine here this morning and feeling quite mild, a lot better.
  16. Problem with hills over the1,000m mark is that its cold up there even in the Summer, might be ok in heat waves if you don't like hot weather. Also I would prefer to be further east for areas more exposed to a North/North Easterly airstream in winter months, so lower hills 100-200m much preferred for summer warmth.
  17. Strange goings on, mmm, I like the sound of that tell me some more? haha
  18. I would say two places, high ground of east Kent around Folkestone/Dover/Canterbury, or eastern areas of East Anglia, not too nr the coast mind, maybe just in from Lowestoft or Gt Yarmouth. These areas tend to get a lot of the streamers/clippers that can produce some big snow amounts. Not too far north as the summers are too cold if your used to living in the SE and they son't get much more snow these days anyway. Any other ideas?
  19. A friend of mine moved to Bedford ages ago, said it was really far away. Never saw him again.... No correction, saw him once then never again.
  20. Ahhh but was it early February? I have seen many spring easterlies produce little, and autumn ones too if it comes to that, but 10th/11th Feb? This felt to me more like an easterly that you might expect in the South in about a months time, ie mid March.
