    Apart from the downpours early this morning and a few meaty gusts this afternoon, it has been a pleasant day here. Took the dog out for a long, if somewhat squelchy walk this afternoon! Roofers have come and looked at the roof. Hopefully they will be back by the end of the week, hopefully!

    Some torrential downpours here. Think there was thunder as doggie was running around in a panic about 20 minutes ago but I was asleep. Waiting for a state of the roads update from OH, when he gets into work.

    Christmas packed away til December. Glad to see the rain here is going to be short lived and hopefully the winds are not much above 40mph, if that.

    Quite quiet here. Have had quite a bit of rain over .right. Front drive flooded and sunroom leaking again, but not too badly. Get a feeling we might just miss it this time. Stay safe everyone.

    OH said he had the same on Reigate Heath but here is Charlwood just some rain.

    Very weird. Huge amount of seagull type birds amassing and riding the thermals outside. It's just the amount of them that's so weird!

    Lull in weather here. OH's drive to work at 7am was in his own words "horrible" due to flooding and standing water. He's in a 4WD! I have a busy day but will keep you up to date with any flooding issues I come across in my travels. Not looking forward to the next 72 hours from a flooding and roof leaking perspective!

    After yesterday and further more extensive leaking in the extension, today has been a respite. I am hoping tomorrow is quiet without rain here tomorrow. Sunday looking bad here though. Happy New Year all and stay safe.

    Can confirm Gatwick appears to be fully operational.

    Well thankfully the really heavy rain missed here. Didn't get woken in the night and the garden looks reasonably intact. Planes flying out of Gatwick. Even with a window open I slept through whatever happened, so couldn't have been too bad.

    Made it to Kingston and back safely but weather dreadful. Thankfully worst of the weather not due for about an hour. Stay safe everyone.

    Yep picking up here too. Our chimney is sounding good. Local fireworks should be only just starting around 7-7:30pm so may miss the worst gusts

    Morning all. Seem to have some sort of bug so if I am quite then forgive me. If we get the forecast 42-43mph winds here tomorrow it'll only be 5-6mph less than Monday during the storm.

    Mornin' all. Blessed Samhain and Happy Halloween! Thought there was something on the cards. Been feeling like someone hit me over the head with a fryinging pan since last Sunday. Gloomy and raining relentlessly here near Gatwick.

    I think JP and the Net Weather team and METO should be congratulated. This storm thankfully didn't wind up and cause widespread devastation, but if it had, we were all well informed and well in advance. The fact they can predict this before the low had even started to form is something we could have only dreamed of before '87 storm. It wasn't a non-event. It was what they thought it would be. I would rather be over prepared than under prepared. Thank you.

    Well we didn't lose power thank goodness. All we had was one trellis partially come off the wall. Gatwick still bloomin' flying. Do they never give up lol. I gather it's all over for us now?
