  1. Just caught a heavy downpour with a bit of hail about 5 mins ago, and other than a brief shower this morning around 9 it's been sunny and breezy all day, a welcome respite which allowed me to put in 6 hours at the allotment
  2. Wind has calmed a bit but still active and still very warm. Clouds whipping past. Loving the sound of it, the video obviously doesn't do it justice, it's booming 20240123_212943.mp4
  3. The big gusts here are now on par with the heaviest gusts from Isha, just not as constant.
  4. The weird thing about this storm is how the max gusts barely have pauses between them.
  5. Landing in Dublin is scary in normal weather, I feel for everyone involved
  6. If you have any ice stick it in the fridge if the power goes, that will help it stay cool longer Very quiet around Liverpool, I think we'll be pretty sheltered compared to most
  7. Commute up the Wirral has been alright this morning, roads not bad. Clear to the west- it looks like all the incoming precip is over the other side
  8. Woke up to sbout 2cm on the ground. Watching that incoming area with interest. I have to go to London later
  9. This ECMWF alongside those spaghettis does have me a little on edge I gotta say. ECMWF has been quite good at modelling this season...
  10. I don't know how long this will last pull up a pebble!
  11. Me so far this summer: this is perfect the cold damp dark weather is a reflection of my tortured soul Also me this afternoon the moment the sun comes out: I was made to bask on a hot rock I should have been born a lizard
  12. Some nice clouds this morning from that line of showers over N Wirral and Liverpool
  13. Hosting a barbecue tomorrow so though the models look like we might escape with a shower we'll probably get hammered
  14. I used to live in tornado alley, so the fear of thunderstorms was constant from when I was little until we moved away. I think the thing that broke me out of it was driving past a tree just as it was struck by lightning, probablyabout 10m from the car. The sensation of the static just before it hit, then the flash, smell, and sound were unreal. A bit of thunder doesn't bother me so much anymore after that and we just don't get storms like that here (yet).
  15. No storm but we've had steady rain for almost an hour and that's all I really wanted
  16. The radar seemed to put a nice cell right over us. Lots of nice rumbles thunder, a few good flashes, a dribbleof rain. Mainly it just made us reminisce about Wisconsin thunderstorms and now I'm a little homesick and my garden still needs watering
  17. Was just going to say! Used to seeing these bow echoes back home but not so much here. Tie up your bins if you are in the path!
  18. Thought I'd share these pics from my of that Manchester cell developing taken from the Wirral between 7:15 - 8pm
