  1. Penguin16 I can't argue with that. Just curious as to the reasons behind the constant belief in easterly winds despite plenty of evidence to the opposite. And take into account they are generously funded by the taxpayer then they do have questions to answer.
  2. Met office need to explain their constant theme of a stronger likelihood of winds from the East that they persisted with for weeks. Now quietly replaced with winds from the West.
  3. Summerlover2006 I can remember landing back at Heathrow during that period. Couldn't believe how hot it was late afternoon. Really stuffy and uncomfortable in the old terminal 2.
  4. swfc it has no merit on the basis it has been wrong on so many occasions. They really should give it up.
  5. Allseasons-Si Er no. They've said that for weeks now and been somewhat less than accurate.
  6. raz.org.rain well they've managed to block out the cold for the past 3 months!
  7. SunnyG My point exactly. Wish I had their nerve in my tooth!
  8. Don Strongly disagree, I do blame the Met Office. They are very well funded and to this day cannot accurately forecast into the extended. They bang the cc drum loudly at every opportunity yet fail to incorporate it into their long range forecasts. Let's be honest, we could all come up with a forecast for the next 3 weeks that would be as fence sitting and as totally false and useless as them without getting paid mega bucks.
  9. lassie23 definitely. So much fence sitting they need to be careful of splinters!
  10. lassie23 just looked at the met office extended forecast. Talk about a masterpiece in backside covering !
  11. raz.org.rain we live in hope but to be fair the weather on our miserable little island never fails to disappoint. The met office outlook has been worded to downgrade anything remotely snowy whilst trying to look like they haven't downgraded it! Their long range forecast has been woeful this winter. At least that's the way I see it without resorting to swearing..
  12. raz.org.rain Seconded! Winter is kaput!
  13. SunnyG you win the prize undoubtedly! No sign of anything cold this month.
  14. Snowboy111 so how do you explain recent Augusts feeling like October?!
  15. SunnyG to be completely fair the long range met office text has been so wrong this winter that you couldn't make it up. Unlike them! As the met office are publicly funded can I claim a refund please?!
  16. ANYWEATHER Eastern areas have certainly trended drier. Obviously not including Eastern Scotland and far north east of England.
  17. Chesil View pretty much becoming very clear that if you want to see snow in your backyard in the UK then you need to go to Wales with altitude or Highland Scotland. East is rubbish for snow now, climate change has seen to that. Easterlies now don't exist here. And with Eastern areas becoming drier you're even less likely to see any real weather.
  18. Don And absolutely no mention of cold weather at al No mention of cold weather at all for next week on the BBC, still going with mild.
  19. @LetItSnow! The cold spell was sadly irrelevant without any snow. I don't want to apologise but I love the snow. It's very rare in our parts so to be near and yet so far from a good snow event is a bit of a choker.
  20. @Frigid seasonal forecasts are pretty much just a guess I reckon. Might be hot, might be cold, maybe in between. Might rain, snow or be dry. All bases covered!
  21. Probably accompanied by copious amounts of drizzle!
  22. Just hoping for a decent August for a change!
