  1. The light rain continued pretty much unabated until 6pm at which point the sun came out. Briefly. Temperature now down to 7.7⁰C, humidity at 93%, maximum gust of wind was 13mph southeasterly at 13:09, pressure now up to 1028.2hPa and rising slowly, rainfall total for today is now 4.8mm and cloud cover reduced to 7/8 just before sunset.
  2. The heating hasn’t been on yet this autumn and the temperature inside is still 17.3⁰C so, with all that saved cash, I might buy myself an ice cream cone. Temperature outside had maximum of 15.1⁰C at 03:38 and minimum of 14.1⁰C now, humidity is 92%, wind speed from 2 to 11mph south-southeasterly, pressure is 1024.7hPa steady, there’s been 2.0mm of rain today and 3.0mm in the last 24 hours with light rain now and cloud cover is 8/8.
  3. Me and my big mouth – it is now wetter. Considerably wetter. I’ve just had to reverse the Landy out of the ford on the back road to the village with my tail between my legs. I usually quite like going sideways in a car, but not whilst floating. Temperature now maximum was 15.3⁰C at 12:50 up from a minimum of 14.4⁰C at 08:40 and now 15.1⁰C, humidity is 91%, wind 1 to 8mph southerly, pressure is 1025.0hPa rising slowly, there’s been 20.4mm of rain today and 27.2mm in the last 24 hours, and cloud cover is 8/8 and thick enough for it to be quite dark already.
  4. The village here is just to the east of the yellow warning for rain zone but even so I expected it to be wetter. Spent most of the day up in Clarkston on the southside of Glasgow where it was around 17⁰C and the drizzle was pretty constant. According to my weather station the village was pretty similar. Maximum temperature was 16.7⁰C at 14:30 up from a minimum of 12.8⁰C at midnight, humidity is 90% up from a minimum of 88% at 06:38, wind has been 4 to 11mph southerly, pressure is 1016.8hPa steady, there’s been 1.6mm of rain so far today and 4.2mm in the last 24 hours and cloud cover has been 8/8 all day.
  5. All in all a very nice day even although it started clouding in from early afternoon onwards. Temperature got up to 14.2⁰C at 14:07, maximum gust of wind was 6mph south-southeasterly at 13:48, pressure stabilised at 1015.1hPa and the rain started at 19:10 with 1.8mm having fallen so far. The next couple of days look squidgy.
  6. Yesterday, mid-morning, I was looking out the sitting room window at the front of the house at a large, manual labour type of gentleman staggering his way down the opposite side of the road, clinging onto every garden and cottage wall he could get his hands on just to keep himself upright. I concluded that it must have been an epic lock-in at the pub over the previous night. In the afternoon I went for a walk but omitted to check my oxygen tank beforehand with the inevitable result that I stupidly ran out of oxygen about three-quarters of a mile from home. The first half a mile wasn’t too bad but once I got onto the last quarter of a mile, on the uphill stretch, things became difficult to the extent that I had to lean on the building walls to keep going. I know what I must have looked like. Note to self… Today, duly pumped up, I am delighted to look out on a superbly sunny and crisply clear morning that is the very best of mid-autumn. Temperature is 9.0⁰C up from a minimum of 0.2⁰C at 07:05, humidity is 82%, no wind recorded, pressure is 1016.0hPa rising slowly, there’s been no rain today nor in the last 24 hours and cloud cover is a well broken 3/8.
  7. Considering that it’s into October I’m willing to forgive the chill, breeze and fluctuating cloud to blueness ratio around just this way or that, plus it’s dry and looks like staying that way, so all in all a fine day to get out for a post-lunch walk. Brace yourselves… Maximum temperature 13.1⁰C at 12:56 up from a minimum of 5.7⁰C at 06:44 and now 12.7⁰C, humidity is 75%, wind 5 to 13mph north-northwesterly, pressure is 1002.5hPa rising slowly, there’s been 0.2mm of rain today and in the last 24 hours, cloud cover is currently 5/8.
  8. The sky continued to clear throughout the afternoon until by teatime the cloud cover was 1/8 and sunshine ruled the roost. I can now see a star to my northeast. A single star. I don’t know what it thinks it’s contributing except, obviously, twenty-eight words to this report. Humidity, wind, pressure and rainfall all remained very much unchanged since lunchtime. Temperature is now 5.9⁰C.
  9. Today started off completely overcast and very dull, now overcast and less dull. Damp, cool, and breezy also. Maximum temperature was 12.0⁰C at 12:27 up from a minimum of 8.4⁰C at 05:22 and now 11.9⁰C, humidity is 81%, wind 2 to 11mph south-southwesterly, pressure is 999.0hPa steady, there’s been 0.2mm of rain today and 2.2mm in the last 24 hours and cloud cover is 8/8 but thinning.
  10. The temperature got up to 13.7⁰C at 14:38 and is now 10.2⁰C, the wind got up to 14mph at 19:57, pressure is now 993.7hPa and rising like a rocket, rainfall has increased to 7.3mm for the day and it stayed pretty much overcast all day. None of which concerned me as I was in bed coughing, spluttering and wheezing. And partaking of the occasional aromatic snifter. For the sake of my health.
  11. Head still pounding and now full of the cold also. Looking a better day outside though, being just damp now rather than soaking wet as it was for most of yesterday. A flash of brightness has just broken through. Temperature currently max for the day at 10.5⁰C up from a minimum of 4.3⁰C at 00:45, humidity is 90%, wind 2 to 10mph southwesterly, pressure is 982.6hPa rising slowly, there’s been 5.8mm of rain today and 19.0mm in the last 24 hours, cloud cover is 7/8 with only small and occasional patches of washed-out blue up there.
  12. I’m not sure which is worse, the weather outside my window or the pain inside my head. At least I can describe the weather; wet, cold, breezy and dark. My headache isn’t so attractive. Maximum temperature so war was 10.3⁰C at 11:06 up from 4.3⁰C at 07:57 and now 8.7⁰C, humidity is 90%, wind 0 to 13mph southeasterly, pressure is 987.6hPa dropping like a stone, there’s been 5.4mm of rain so far today and 8.2mm in the last 24 hours and the cloud cover is a thick 8/8.
  13. 1st of October and it’s getting to that time of the year when a person should to be ready to offer shelter and sustenance to a wayfarer in need. Good old fashioned Scottish hospitality. Except when they let themselves in unannounced and gulp down your pint. This wayfarer is getting kicked out as soon as it stops raining. Maximum temperature today was 11.9⁰C at 00:40 from where it went down to 8.4⁰C at 09:27 and then back up to 10.9⁰C now, humidity is 79%, wind 2 to 18mph southwesterly, pressure is 998.2hPa rising slowly, there’s been 6.0mm of rain today and 13.4mm in the last 24 hours and the cloud cover is 6/8. 14. September 20121 Highs Temperature 28.2⁰C Humidity 96% Wind 21mph Pressure 1035.1hPa Total rainfall 96.0mm September 20121 Lows Temperature 2.3⁰C Humidity 47% Pressure 997.2hPa
  15. Damp, cool and windy day today, which I suspect will be par for the course in the weeks to come. Maximum temperature today was 13.9⁰C up from 6.2⁰C at midnight, humidity is 90%, wind 3 to 14mph southwesterly, pressure is 1003.0hPa steady, there’s been 20.2mm of rain today and cloud cover is a fairly comprehensive 8/8. @CatchMyDrift your back door looks like a space/time portal to the western Canadian rain forest. Spectacular.
  16. Cloud built up until 2pm and a minute later it rained for two minutes, and then it stopped, and the cloud cleared until by 5pm the sky was, to all intents and purposes, clear. Stayed chilly though. Temperature maxed out at 14.0⁰C at 15:25 and total rainfall for the day ended up at 0.6mm. Outside, in the sunshine, it felt like a really nice autumnal day.
  17. It’s been a mainly sunny morning but with some big, beefy, white clouds building up now and being blown in from the west. Chilly again but, although there was a bit of rain overnight, it’s crisp and dry now. Temperature now 12.2⁰C in the sunshine up from a minimum of 2.3⁰C at 07:53, humidity is 76%, wind 2 to 10mph west-northwesterly, pressure is 1015.8hPa rising slowly, there was 0.4mm of rain in the early hours and cloud cover is 4/8 and seems to be building.
  18. Today has so far been a sunshine with a shower sort of day having blue sky to the west, dark grey sky to the east, coolish temperature and relatively calm compared to the last couple of days or so. Maximum temperature so far was 13.0⁰C at 12:35 up from a minimum of 7.1⁰C at 07:28 and it’s now 12.2⁰C, humidity is 79%, wind is 2 to 10 mph south-southwesterly, pressure is 1006.1hPa falling slowly, there was 0.2mm of rain in a short shower an hour ago and cloud cover is 5/8.
  19. It turned out to be a nice afternoon here and we seem to have dodged the showers, mostly, and only suffered a bit from low temperatures and sporadic windy outbreaks, as it were. Temperature got all the way up to 13.7⁰C at 15:46, humidity was down at 70% at 16:25, maximum gust of wind was 21mph at 16:17, pressure is currently up to 1006.0hPa and rising slowly, rain today got up to 18.6mm and cloud cover this afternoon was 1/8 to 2/8, so mostly bright and sunny. Addendum: Just had a brief but vigorous shower lasting five minutes that took today's total up to 20.6mm. Oh, and I noticed on the village Facebook page that someone is so desperate for a couple of gallons of petrol that they're willing to swap a GP appointment for it. Now that's desperation!
  20. There’s been fairly steady rain overnight and this morning however it’s clearing up a bit now. Chilly though. Temperature now 13.1⁰C up from a minimum of 8.6⁰C at 07:27, humidity is 76%, wind 4 to 12mph west-southwesterly, pressure is 999.3hPa rising slowly, there’s been 32.6mm of rain in the last 24 hours of which 18.0mm has been since midnight and cloud cover is currently 3/8. The moon appears to be staying up late. I wonder what's happening?
  21. A nice enough day here, only problem being I wasn’t here, I was up in Glasgow, where it wasn't so nice. Maximum temperature was 19.0⁰C at 15:46, humidity minimum was 74% at 15:44, wind maxed out at 16mph at 16:17, pressure remained between 999 and 1000hPa all day, there was 12.8mm of rain today and cloud cover varied between 5/8 and 7/8.
  22. I was stuck inside on an oxygen day today but through the window it looked much like the last week or so - mostly overcast and dull except for an hour of sunshine between 1pm and 2pm. However the temperature was staging a bit of a fightback, according to my weather station, and even inside it felt warmer. Maximum temperature was 20.6⁰C at 14:00 up from a minimum of 13.4⁰C at 00:07, humidity got down to 76% at 13:55, wind was 2 to 12mph around southerly, pressure went from 1010.8hPa at 02:39 to 1007.0hPa at 22:22 and now 1007.3hPa steady, 0.2mm of rain fell today and cloud cover varied between 6/8 and 8/8.
  23. When the time comes for a bit of prepping, I shall do so sustainably. Me a green prepper.
  24. Our walk down to the deli this lunchtime was in drizzle and under a dull and overcast sky, which wasn’t a good start, and then there wasn’t any lentil soup, which was a disaster. I’ll be writing to somebody sometime about that. Then, after lunch, I decided to go and do some panic buying, but I didn’t need fuel so I panic bought six bottles of Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc, a twelve-pack of beers and a big packet of roast chicken crisps. I don’t feel so panicky now. Temperature is 16.5⁰C up from a minimum of 12.8⁰C at 03:38, humidity is 90%, wind is 3 to 17mph west-southwesterly, pressure is 1007.9hPa steady, there’s been 1.6mm of rain so far today and cloud cover is 8/8 but maybe just thinning a wee bit. Right, the Ryder Cup beckons; I may be some time…
