  1. Can see distant flickering in the anvil of the Sheffield cell to the north east, so annoying how it intensified as it moved away
  2. I was getting too excited, the Welsh storm has took a direct right turn which has officially put out of the game. What's worse is we now have another system that has just developed North East of us which will also move away as intensifies. I'm fed up now.
  3. It looks like now it's heading too far east after starting northerly which will mean it will miss us completely
  4. Very amusing seeing us in the North West hanging all out hopes on this storm maintaining it's track and intensity, its looking good so far though
  5. Maybe last chance saloon for us tonight? If it heads a bit more east like the Cumbria storms we 'could' have a decent storm
  6. Fair enough, I've only lived up here for 7 years so not sure about before then
  7. What do you could be the cause of the trend in less storms up here? I do it too mate, don't worry. It is annoying seeing the likes of Lincolnshire and the North East get constant batterings lol
  8. True, but I'd actually prefer not to get them forecasted because I want have to cancel plans for nothing. I understand that the forecasters aren't aware of the geography around here which seems to hinder storm activity
  9. I think we have had one direct storm in over 3 years and that came from the east which is quite rare in the UK lol. It's odd that your location hasn't had any luck too, you'd assume you'd be the first to get any French imports but they tend to die out these days unless they are Kent clippers lol
  10. I understand but it just happens too often for this area. The amount of times I've had to rearrange plans because of impending forecasts of heavy rain or storms and it never happens. Its OK though.
  11. Another day of a forecast for this area being SO wrong. Very frustrating when you cancel plans because you rely on the forecast of incompetent people who claim to know about weather. This happens every bloody time. How many more times are they going to put us in the severe weather warning area and it turns out to be the very opposite, a glorious day? I understand its only a 'risk' of storms, but they can't be wrong this often. Just don't put us in a,warning area, if anything happens fine but I'd rather that then be led to believe something that never happens. *sigh*
  12. Over 12,000 strikes recorded today so far.....and we have had a grand total of 0 here, despite being a severe warning area for dangerous lightning, heavy hail, torrential rain. I know we have a storm shield built over us but today takes the biscuit. Pretty much a copy and paste job, enjoy your multiple rounds of storms the areas hogging them. I'm not bitter in the slightest
  13. Some areas havnt had any storms for 3 years yet some are having 3 in one day and that's not enough for some people lol
  14. I love how the areas that usually hog the storms are asking for more
  15. That mess made sure it passed over my area first before it turned thundery. They arent allowed to do that here.
  16. Radar seems to be clearing directly south of us, unless anything else is due to develop but looks like all the juiciest stuff is east
  17. Very disappointing day up here yet AGAIN. Whenever we get these warnings of severe weather and thunderstorms the best we actually get is a few minutes of convective rain. Happens every bloody time. Still stupidly humid and sticky here.
  18. Despite being in the severe warning area....nothing here but a bit of messy rain. Think that's it for today. All the proper stuff is miles away.
  19. Still nothing here. We are in the 60% severe warning area. That usually means it's gunna be a glorious sunny day. Can't see that changing with everything to the north and east of us as I predicted yesterday after having everything yesterday to the south and west.
  20. 90% humidity here at moment, hazy sunshine with variable amounts of mid to high level cloud....certainly has that 'primed' feeling to it.
  21. of course we had the usual today....storm just too far south for us to enjoy, and then a storm just too far to the west for us to enjoy looking forward to tomorrow when we'll get a storm just too far to the north and east for us to enjoy
  22. Ireland with another decent storm yet again. Unbelievable.
