  1. Lightning visible near Tonbridge, Kent. Its really active! In a good spot at the moment. This is giving me flashbacks of a certain storm last year where flashes from the channel were also visible.
  2. 26C here although high cloud is moving in from the south. Really humid and not much in the way of wind at all. Met office is predicting 30 for my location later with even a 50% chance of storms at 15:00. I think I’m too far east tbh
  3. 3 storms in the space of a week!! Tonights storm turned out the most exciting although it did make a direct hit around these parts. FullSizeRender.MOV FullSizeRender.MOV
  4. Never mind those pilots have decided to miss the approach to 08R and what I presume divert/hold
  5. Gatwick arrivals now skirting past here. Certainly an usual approach path for gatwick as at first glance it looks like they will land 26L, but instead, approach from a northerly direction into 08R. Exciting storm!
  6. Only distant rumbles could be heard here. Did get one flash and a moderately loud boom. Otherwise we have only had a few drops of rainfall here so far today despite looking like being in the frontline to some very torrential rain. Nice disintegration of both convective potential and rain.
  7. Atmosphere looks primed for storms!! Distant thunder heard to my south
  8. Webcam live from Terracina, Italy is popping off Don’t get these kind of storms very often in our neck of the woods
  9. Thunder heard from the south. Lucky year for thunderstorms (in this corner of the country) . Sorry fellow midlanders and northerners
  10. Fantastic day of weather here in West Kent! Todays excitement, coupled with last weeks night storm, means I have already exceeded the amount of storms that I experienced last year. One strike was a little too close to home.. One of those blinding flashes followed by instant gunshot thunder, looked on the lightning map and it was just past the opposite side of the road, behind the houses! Here are some basic phone pictures for all of you who know what you’re talking about. Not sure if the rainbow picture counts as iridescent? (No lightning pics sorry)
