  9. I am genuinely gutted about the lack of anything stormy today...it could have been epic! Sigh...gonna give this storm watching a break me thinks, been a really disappointing year so far. They're getting battered up north though...some supercells have been reported.

  13. What a stunner of a day...crisp blue skies! Station is showing temperature of 28.6C 31% humidity and that is in the shade! Nice breeze taking the edge off a bit.
  14. In order to do a proper investigation (baring in mind I am not meteorologically minded) do we not need to set parameters to figure out what constitutes a classic thunderstorm. Are people classing a thunderstorm as 20 minutes of rain with a couple of rumbles or are we thinking storms that last an hour plus with frequent lightning and thunder. In my opinion you cannot investigate until you make that distinction between widespread thunderstorms or thundery showers. Then working out the conditions that produce those conditions on what, if anything is missing and altimately why those aspects are missing.
  15. There is definitely something missing from our weather. I too remember storms that used to roll in a take all night to move on. I was born in the late 80s, and i was petrified of storms throughout my childhood till i got locked outside in one! I've not seen a storm that lasts longer than 10-15 minutes since 2000/2001. I remember in 2001, one of the last storms i remember me and my mates were at Shire Oak Park (Sandhills) in Brownhills. We heard distant rumbles getting closer and closer, we looked across towards Lichfield and then turned to look towards Walsall the sky was full of lightening, I've never run home so quick in my life! By the time i got home the sky was green! That was the last proper storm i remember.
  16. Oi! Cheeky! It's pronounced Dudlaaay! Sir Lenny Henry will be informed of your impertinence! LMAO
  17. Lets hope you are right! I'm not holding out much hope though.
  18. Had some lovely warmth this morning but as the day has gone on it has become cloudier with rain. It is currently raining here with a temperature of 20.2C with 59% Humidity. It's actually quite wet out there!
  19. It has been beautiful. I've been sitting in the garden most of the day. Crystal clear skies.
