  1. Fabulous lightning every few seconds, shooting across the sky. Deep booms of thunder, one rather large crack not long ago.
  2. Overcast, has started to rain here in Dudley... hour ago it was roasting, wall to wall sunshine.
  3. Well the last few days have been a complete bust haven’t they? To be honest I haven’t paid that much attention on the weather the last few months. Last time I posted was May...ish? Dad passed away unexpectedly, had my car stolen, work, work, work...time just gets away for you. I think it was the 2nd week of January before I realised we’d not seen much in the way of wintry weather. I did look so good for us a couple of days ago, amazing how it can change so quickly really.
  4. Quite a few flashes of lightning here. Love a night time storm
  5. Snowing moderately here after lots of showers today. Cars, roads, pavements and grass are all covered. 3rd snow event since December now.
  6. Still snowing very lightly here. Off to bed, might go for a walk in the morning
  7. Snow has picked up along with the wind! Pretty epic Winter for Dudley.
  8. Snow still falling. I used to have steps and a wall up to the lawn. lol
  9. Apparently the power has gone out at Birmingham New Street station.
  10. This is my back garden right now. Snow drift has over topped the garden wall.
  11. Coming down well here. Everything is covered now; roads, pavements, cars. It's heavier than what we had all day yesterday.
  12. I'm quite happy with what we've had here. Not loads but enough to create some great snow drifts; seeing the wind whip up the snow like it has is something i have not seen in years. And the temperatures of course have been magnificent! Can't have everything, not in this country! Remember the last few years where we would have killed for what we have right now?
  13. Parts of the West Midlands County is now under the Amber Weather Alert according to the Met Office.
  14. Just popped my head out the front door. Roads and pavements are virtually covered. Snow is small but getting quite heavy, lots of drifting in the strong winds. Probably won't be in work tomorrow either by the looks of things.
  15. Been at home all day due to them closing the Day Centre in Penkridge. They've had more snow than i have here. Very light snow on and off throughout the day, has only just started to cover the pavements again. Very windy, lost a fence panel.
  16. Some extremely beefy snow showers up where i work in Penkridge, South Staffs. They closed the Day Centre i work at early. Old people and snow don't mix to well. Back home now, few showers throughout the day apparently.
  17. I can't believe it's still snowing here! We really have had an amazing day! Everything looks so beautiful out there. You watch, this will be it for us for the rest of winter lol!
  18. Still going here in Dudley. Slightly heavier than that fine snow we've had for a couple of hours.
  19. Best snowfall since 2013 here in Russells Hall, Dudley. And no work for me tomorrow!
  20. I work in Penkridge and i was really surprised at how little snow there was compared to the amount we had here in Dudley this morning. Longest part of my journey to work this morning was Dudley to Wolverhampton. On way home it was vice versa. Very heavy snow during the rush hour journey home in Wolverhampton and lasted all the way till i skidded onto my estate.
  21. Well i managed to get home from Penkridge despite the heavy snow coming through Wolverhampton earlier. I was fine until i got to Russells Hall, took me ages to crawl down the hill onto the Estate from Himley Road. I skidded into the kerb three times. Supposed to have been going to a party in Pelsall tonight, buses are few and far between and there are no taxis available at 3 companies i tried. Attempted to get off the Estate, managed it rather well but then got stuck in what i can only describe as slippery gridlock. Took me 30 minutes to get to Priory Road so i've had to give up and slide back home! Just not worth it!
  22. Well it appears to be thundering here. First time this year. Yay!!
  23. Thought i'd slept through it all...turned out we got absolutely nothing! How very disappointing yet again!
  24. I'm not going to get my hopes up in all honesty, we often seem well placed and end up with just rain. I'd settle for just ONE good thunderstorm. Us Black Country folk are storm starved. I've seen 1 storm a year i think since moving from Brownhills to Dudley almost 5 years ago and just 2 evenings worth of snow! On the surface things do look good though.
