Looks like quite a potent squall is organising just before it hits Nottingham.
Wonder if there might be a few funnel cloud sightings

Yeah, we can do better than that!! Unbelievable day for them, two tornado driven HIGH risks! First time since April 2012. Looks like another outbreak is possible in a few days time, active start to the season.
Yep Tuesday looking interesting 30% for severe thunderstorms it might give yesterday's outbreak a run for its money

Does anyone else think that the tail-end of this storm will reach the Isle of Wight/Southampton area?
I think i'll be able to see a bit of it as it passes by, but I'm not too sure. What do you think?
Oh yeah I think you could see something

And this is on the 70th anniversary of the Lynmouth disaster. Hopefully not a repeat or another Boscastle.
I have seen on radar some very heavy rainfall so hopefully people will be safe and we don't get a repeat of that terrible day

I'm 10 miles northwest of this beast of a storm in Devon in the Somerset border and it's just non-stop rumbling I think it is definitely MCS it looks like it on radar

This is what me and @Met4Cast have issued for tomorrow:
Long story short, convergence zones setting up across S Ireland, SW England & E/NE England during the day. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms developing here but nothing too extreme currently. Into the evening, a low approaches SW England and numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop on the leading edge of the trough/occluded front across SW/CS England and S Wales. I'd expect some fairly frequent lightning at times.
Interestingly I'm just in the mdt zone in the south west maybe I might get a little bit of storm action

That looks close enough to me that I might get a little bit of action

Even up until 2018, an overnight storm was almost always nailed on. The last few years has seen a change to more localised and less widespread storms.
I will say most of the best storms I've witnessed were from MCS setups and to be frank I don't remember the last time we had one

Talk of the Iberian low slowing/being further west over in the model thread, and it crosses the country on a more southerly track on the latest GFS. If that happens it'll likely mean a change in the current thoughts on thunderstorm potential. An awful lot left to be resolved on this one.
Does that mean another SW storm event?

I can tell you now, This is almost guaranteed as i am on holiday in the east of the UK. Whenever I'm on holiday, storms move up from the SW.
We might have to start paying you to go on holiday as some of us are lacking in the T storms department

I’m going to TRY to sleep in this soupy, ludicrously sultry heat; There seems to be no point in staying up, as I’ve only seen a few very distant flashes. I don’t generally tend to be negative, as I enjoy seeing other people around me be happy. The same goes for this forum. But tonight... has been incredibly frustrating for the East Sussex coastline. I am feeling quite irritated, and sullen.
I am still very happy for all the storm starved peeps this morning! I’m glad you are getting a good show. Now, let’s see if I can even begin to fall asleep...
i hope you a big one this year man
