  1. Personally I'm keeping an eye on the one that's forming near to Matlock, I'm assuming @MattStoke will be too It's got our name on it as long as it keeps building and makes it past Leek/Cheddleton.
  2. There is (unfortunately) more energetic photons bouncing around. Was standing in front of the window when the sun was out and it felt really warm.
  3. Looking back at you with clear blue skies overhead the distant hills of Parkhall fuzzed out by snow. LOL
  4. Seems to be some sort of interaction going on with the low heading into France. Gravity wave interfering??? I think that's what's fuelling the formation of cirrus cloud. Imagerie satellitaire / UK | MeteoCentre.com METEOCENTRE.COM
  5. Lucky you, stopped here now, just a sugar sifter coating of graupel on cars and paving slabs, but skies clearing out now, so it'll prob be gone in 5-10 mins
  6. Correction It is now Graupel, alot of it too (still not sticking though)
  7. Same, just a sparse falling of small non-sticking flakes drifting in the gentle breeze. Least it's not Graupel.
  8. Crossing my fingers that Leek won't 'eat' it up.
  9. Split on either side of me. Got a few tiny (re. millimeter) flakes drifting in the wind glinting with sunlight, looks pretty at least.
  10. Looks like our SnowShield has finally fallen.
  11. It's still snowing longest it's done so all day, Pavement, Gardens and Road Edges have a thin layer!
  12. Got some big 10p size flakes coming down outside o_O
  13. Clouds heading over me are going West now, looks like the change in wind direction is starting (here at least anywho).
  14. LoL no chance then Also got another sugar sifting going on outside, wonder how long this'll last before it vanishes.
  15. Not sure where exactly in Longton you are, but I'm about 100foot higher in elevation the Longton's town centre, and it's much less built up here, Norton's a very small council estate about half way up the Eastern side of Whitfield valley looking West (Smallthorn's on the Western side of the valley looking eastwards) and we are basically surrounded by greenbelt. So not sure why it's vanishing so fast, I could understand if the snow was sublimating or something along those lines due to dry air, but humidity's at 80+% ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  16. And in the 20 mins it took me to do the dishes it melted, how is it melting!! The roads/pavement/ground is dry, the temps at -1, the sun set ages ago. WHY!!!
  17. I have snowflakes \o/ Actual REAL snowflakes, none of that Graupel rubbish \o/ only lightly coming down but it is sticking so the cars have a very light sugar sprinkle look to them.
  18. Radar is lying again. T_T I have clear skies above me.
  19. Decent blob over Buxton heading my way, fingers and toes crossed that the Northern Stoke Snowshield fails.
  20. Still not a flake here and considering I'm only a mile and half away, that's what you'd definitely call a localised snow shower.
  21. That's what it's like where I live , just a tiny bit left clinging on in a pavement crack at top of drive.
  22. Not necessarily, I live in the Northern part of Stoke just 5 miles (as the crow flies) away from @MattStoke and there's been no snow where I live from the previous 2 event's and so far today only 2 1min (if that) long 'flurries' of graupel dust (which almost instantly melted) so far.
  23. Missed me completely, went a bit dark as it passed by but no whitestuff from the sky. Suns out in all it's glory and no snow to be seen anywhere now.
  24. Nope, this is the 2nd 'flurry' I've seen both have just been graupel, no actual flakes.
