  1. Feeling colder currently than the 9°C. Had heating on for a quick blast.
  2. Who's a really early riser tomorrow morning? It's looking very lively with squally hailstone showers for most of the region.
  3. Dry, pleasant start, overcast by 7.45am. Temp 5°C. Not going to last though, rain forecast later. Last decent prolonged spell was just 4 days long, 3rd to 6th March, where Rostherne recorded 0mm rain for 4 consecutive days.
  4. alr1970 yes, Alex Burkhill mentioned HP becoming more dominant by Thursday, leading to hopefully next weekend being dry . Next week feeling cooler though.
  5. Monday certainly looks to be a bit entertaining weather wise from the early hours with squalls moving through, ESSL has a risk of T and L during the early hours. Then followed by wintry showers.
  6. Pleasant dry slot, clouds galloping across the sky. A quick amble in the park. 14.4°C
  7. iand61 yes, I have friends with allotments, they cannot dig or turn the top soil which appears dry enough, just an inch down is water. One has managed to put beans in, but in raised troughs. Farming must be suffering immensely.
  8. severe snowstorm yes, horrid here, another heavy shower as I type, feels quite cold too today. Quite a contrast to Rosthernes' max for the month so far on Thursday of 18.6°C, then snow showers perhaps on Monday, such extremes.
  9. Best day of the month yesterday. Stayed dry, odd burst of sun, max 17.3°C. Despite a dry day, one of my sisters gardens is still under water. Rain this am, 11.3°C.
  10. Overcast today but the warm temp made it pleasant. Max 17.5°C. Hey ho it's spitting now.
  11. Morning all. Rostherne recorded its lowest temp of the month at 4.4°C last night, Man Airport min was 2°C. Calm overcast start to the day here, current temp 6.8°C.
  12. carinthian would love to see Macc Town FC promoted again and rise out of tier 3. Robbie Savage has put his heart, soul and personal funding into keeping a team playing at the Moss Rose. Max of 10.4°C, Had some really strong gusts around here earlier. Some brightness since 7pm, nice to see but too late in the day to be of any use really.
  13. carinthian Hi Carinthian, yes , in the words of @Iceaxecrampon it's dreich, it is very uninviting here at the moment, any bouts of dryness or sunshine are extremely short lived. I think we are under another named storm Pierrick, gusty winds, high tides......... Maybe best to postpone a visit for now, but when you do come, bring the sun too.
  14. Chris.R Tis depressing, Rostherne weather station has recoded just 13.8 hours of sunshine for the month so far, terrible.
  15. Morning all, 9 days into April now and each day it has rained at some point. A bit blowy, pouring down and 6.9°C, no sign of putting any winter clothing away yet, perpetual autumn.
  16. Chris.R under blue echoes here, but no precipitation as yet, hardly a breeze now, after 3 days of gusts. 14.5°C Best day of sunshine so far for April was Saturday with just 4.4 hours of sunshine, that is terrible. Some of you may have had more or less. Data from Rostherne, Knutsford.
  17. Possibility for the odd strike UK wide today, ESSL has parts of the NW slightly favourable this evening. Estofex is favouring the southern half. We'll see.
  18. @Chris.R there's a small risk of some T and L tonight for the region what do you think?
  19. Rain Lady Yes, we live in a beautiful country, even though a little trip to Matlock was marred with rain yesterday the scenery was stunning. Every shade of green was evident on the hills, contrasting with pastel lime colours of all types of moss thriving in these wet conditions. Vibrant yellow gorse is in full bloom and the river Wye running along side the A6 was in full spate attracting a few herons, it was a stunning little run out. Damp, 11.1°C currently and dark. Fed up of having the lights on in the house nearly all day too.
  20. severe snowstorm yes, I recall my concerns on how parched the ground was becoming and vegetation was looking a little distressed and thinking a bit of rain wouldn't go amiss
  21. severe snowstorm yes, was a decent run of dry weather, if I remember rightly the NW fared better than the southern half of UK throughout this spell, even the Lakes had a decent run of dry days. Then it rained, and it hasn't stopped.
  22. Morning all. Feels like we've gone a couple of months backwards. Temp is almost half of this time yesterday at 8°C and it's miserably dark. Stepped into half inch of water outside my back door to feed the birds which unusually were not in sight, couldn't even hear any. Could hear the rain without undrawing the curtains. OK, I like all types of weather ( accept strong winds) but l have had my fill of this wet. I'm off to Matlock Bath in bit, hope for a few dry hours. A week now into April and not one single completely dry day/evening yet. Enjoy your Sunday what ever you're doing. oh, there's a glimpse of blue sky, bring it on.
  23. The squall like system moving east is now producing strikes, Derbyshire way, Yorkshire could be in with a shout, it's very intense on the radar.
