  1. Same here in Bournemouth - doesn't look good for us, I think out best chance is early next week -- there's not much hope for us for today and tomorrow I'm afraid. I've lived here for 4 years, not seen a single CM covering.
  2. I came here expecting some discussion about the models and all i see is people whinging. There wasn't any of this nonsense back in my days on Net-Weather. It's a model discussion thread, people should be discussing the models without any bias towards warm or cold in the model discussion threads - discuss facts and projections - not sure why there has to be a team hot and team cold competing when we should be simply 'reading' the charts and giving thoughts and insight.
  3. Slowly but surely getting more and more depressed. Will Bournemouth EVER get any snow? Sick and tired of not having snow - lived here for 4 years and not seen a single CM lying on the ground. Half tempted to move back to Cheshire just to see some of the bloody elusive stuff!
  4. I remember that retro Net-Weather homepage well - I've been here (although inactive in discussions in recent years) for quite a while and you've definitely done a sterling job to get NW to where it's at today. I remember migrating here from the old BBC boards and loved every moment of being a member on here in the past. Edit: just noticed I've been a member for 10 years - bloody hell. I was probably around 15 when I was first on Netweather. Where has the time gone?!
  5. Snowing heavily now in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. It looks set to stay for the remainder of the day, I should imagine there will still be showers passing in to the evening onwards.
  6. Chester eh? I'm in Ellesmere Port at the moment, we look set to get pasted tomorrow.
  7. Almost impossible now for this to be a disaster, I should imagine the whole of the North West will see at least a dusting, most probably getting substantially more.
  8. I'd imagine he will get there fine, albeit with some long delays.
  9. Snow has now eased off, earlier it was alternating between periods of very light snow to moderate. I'm very curious as to how this front is going to track, if we're lucky on the Wirral and in and around Cheshire, we will get battered by the part of the front that's over SW Ireland now. If that part does indeed steamroll over us, I'd imagine at least 4 hours of consistent moderate - heavy snow.
  10. Haha the days of MSN! I moved down to Essex a few years ago, then moved to Bournemouth and now living in New Milton, Hampshire. However i'm at home at the moment from Christmas and won't be going anywhere until the snow (assuming it comes) has gone haha. Currently awaiting MetOffice Rainfall Radar update, as it seems the bottom of the front to the West may clip the Wirral.
  11. Haha, hadn't been on for years and not bothered to login when i had been watching late last year. Now i'm back to checking every day like the good 'ole days! Good to see you're still here mate, i remember us being up til late quite often chasing the festering snow showers. Hope you're doing good
  12. It's looking good, but i'm not getting my hopes up - it could all go tits up, which is what i come to expect for my hometown region (Cheshire) these days.
  13. Just noticed you're from Runcorn, I'm originally from Ellesmere Port and I'm here at the moment during the holidays. Great to seen local people on here. Crossing my fingers we get a pasting!
  14. My first post here for a few years, but I'm curious as to what exactly the point was in typing that utter drivel? It's a model watching thread, FYI. Weather users posts are ramping cold weather or not, as long as the posts are informative and relatively realistic and factual in nature, what's the problem?
  15. What happened to this section of the forum? It always used to be buzzing with people posting about the cold weather - now, threads like this, are pretty much dead. Are the cold weather rampers hiding somewhere that i cannot access on the forum!?
  16. That precipitation to the East has been obliterated
  17. Yep, I've been keeping an eye on that for a while and it's definitely heading in our direction, albeit light precipitation. I think it could stand a chance of making it to us before fizzling out.
  18. The snow here is slightly melting in places that are in the sun for long periods but it's still covering pretty much everywhere - the snow actually goes well past my ankle. Hopefully we will get a topping up tomorrow and Monday (and even Tuesday). The GFS and FAX look rather tasty at the moment and I hope they stay the same, or obviously improve.
