  1. Fair bit of snow for Scottish hills Monday/Tuesday with warnings issued.
  2. ECM 12z decides to throw a chunk of the PV directly over the UK,and only 8 days away.
  3. The SSW forecast to go on for a fair old while, but struggling to make it down past 100hpa.
  4. Yesterday's ECM day 6 scandi high completely blown away. Have to laugh really. today.yesterday.
  5. Overnight ECM det. run keen on another scandi high at only day 6 with good ensemble support as well. Maybe a less unsettled outlook than what looked liikely a couple of days ago?
  6. So that's 4 ECM Ai runs per day. As if the rollercoaster wasn't bad enough. Also to note the SSW is pretty much underway now.
  7. Day 10 ENS. means doing pretty well generally, but a big plunge in the stats for mid-late February. https://www.emc.ncep.noaa.gov/users/verification/global/gefs/prod/atmos/grid2grid/hgt/
  8. Anyone get some snow around Newcastle this morning?, was a nice looking clump passed over first thing this morning.
  9. phil nw. The ECM control run delivers pretty much what you describe is needed for a decent March cold spell.
  10. ECM 144 hrs with a substantial cold pool heading around the eastern flank of the scandi high.
  11. ECM 12z keen for something wintry on the first day of Spring.
  12. 12z GEM looking quite blocky, with a succession of troughs dropping down from the North backing further West each time.
  13. Daniel* Lets hope the extra day of winter this year turns out like this.
  14. What a bizarre run from the 18z,deep trough comes crashing in from the NW and then decides to have a love-in with the UK which results in a rather nasty storm. Not to be taken literally at this range of course, but one to keep an eye on.
  15. The models are keen on a deep trough dropping down from the NW later next week,so the next named storm could be on the cards.
  16. Nice to see some decent cold uppers at the backend of the 06z ens.mean.
  17. AAM/GWO forecasts are a bit thin on the ground, but found these for anyone interested. https://atlas.niu.edu/forecast/aam/cfsv2_aam_fcst_current.png https://atlas.niu.edu/forecast/aam/GWO_members_current.png Both from this page: https://atlas.niu.edu/gwo/
