  2. Yorkshire/Derbyshire, the places I've lived in since 2003, are definitely not places to be if you want thunder - on average anywhere from 0-2 thunderstorms per year. Perhaps 3 in a "busy" year.
  3. Interesting - don't know much about any link between El Nino and the UK's summer temperatures - can you show a clear correlation between El Nino's and summer heatwaves?
  4. I laughed and laughed and laughed at that tiny spec of 30C on that first map. I predict that 2023 won't see 30C at all... it will reach 29.9C on the warmest day this year, with July and August being cyclonic and cool. Nice change from recent year's heatwaves.
  5. A very cold day in SE Sheffield, ocast all day with a max of 13.0°C .

  13. The UK's summers are already cool by most any standard, and extremely cloudy in a global context. What more do some ppl want?
  14. Now the sun is going down the sun is just breaking through the clouds here as well. The usual summer pattern has set in.
  15. 15° in lounge Been out walking so got warmed up. Heating will be on for half an hour later.
  16. Nothing outside May-Sep can really be called a warm season in the UK. At least IMO.
  17. Everyone commenting it's like a winter's day here.
  18. Takes a laughably long time to get 20 degrees in the UK... I'd expect it to happen at least by mid April every year.
  19. 19:23 18.1°C in the lounge - highest temperature of the month so far. The heating had to be on to achieve this.
  20. 14:07 14.7°C with no heating on. How is everyone else's places so warm without heating??????
  21. Spring 2013 and summer 2012. So the period of June 2012-May 2013 was utter pants from my POV. Not the same calendar year OK but still within a year period.
  22. December = 0/10 January = 5/10 February = 7/10
