Yorkshire/Derbyshire, the places I've lived in since 2003, are definitely not places to be if you want thunder - on average anywhere from 0-2 thunderstorms per year. Perhaps 3 in a "busy" year.
Interesting - don't know much about any link between El Nino and the UK's summer temperatures - can you show a clear correlation between El Nino's and summer heatwaves?
I laughed and laughed and laughed at that tiny spec of 30C on that first map.
I predict that 2023 won't see 30C at all... it will reach 29.9C on the warmest day this year, with July and August being cyclonic and cool. Nice change from recent year's heatwaves.
