  1. SunSean satanic is absolutely the right word. Enjoy your hols
  2. Looked for sprouts today in Lidl to go with our roast but alas… tender stalk broccoli it is! Made some pigs in blankets though & keeping in the Christmas spirit… ’water butts full’
  3. Had to get up & close the bathroom window in the night as was making door rattle yet am still in a vest top with a fan on following me around… AND prepping a roast no less! Never buy a new build people if you veer on the warm side!
  4. As a gardener, this just totally blows my mind. It feels like it took forever for my tomatoes & peppers to ripen this year!
  5. Don’t think I’ve ever classed myself as a hottie or a coldie on here before so I’m coming out… I think I’m a coldie! Might be my age or having moved to a new build a couple of yrs ago but hearing the wind blowing through the bedroom windows this morning & feeling the fresh air was so nice. Sometimes it feels like what I can only imagine being microwaved must feel like in this house & there’s no way of cooling it down (other than air con). 2 Sundays ago it was 29* in the bedroom when we got up to go to a carboot & that was with all the upstairs windows open & 2 fans Don’t get me wrong, I much prefer it sunny & fresh & long for frosty crisp autumn mornings over this dank muck but new builds have a lot to answer for when taking into account the weather & it wasn’t something I’d considered when we brought here.
  6. Being flooded by rising sea levels doesn’t seem to be a major concern of the millionaires who continue to purchase seafront properties but like to tell us that sea levels are rising
  7. Normally just sleep in a sheet this time of yr (new build, windows open, fan on) but woke up frozen early hrs of last night & had to join hubby under the duvet… much to his disappointment!
  8. Weather wise, I had to tie ropes of twine round my sweetcorn to the pumpkin arch to stop it from snapping in the wind today!
  9. They don’t have behavioural psychologists in Sage for nothing, nudge, nudge Feeble-minded indeed…
  10. Can you imagine calling for a ‘stay at home’ order to be issued prior to 2020? Begging the government to give you instructions on how to behave in weather? The level of damage done to some people’s psyche over the last couple of years is depressing
  11. He’s a moron because he questions the narrative? Regardless of your views on his mental capacity, I used the graphic as an example to show that in the past we didn’t seem to alarm the country as much as we do nowadays when we hit some hot weather
  12. Just popping by to wish everyone a Happy Easter. Hope you’ve all enjoyed some ‘cracking’ if rather chilly picnics/BBQS with family & friends this weekend
  13. I took the dog out about 2hrs ago to meet the daughter on her way home and the breeze felt warm. Can’t believe we’re going to go back to cold temps in couple of days. Doesn’t seem fair!
  14. Feel like such a fool. I took my eye off the weather ball & allowed myself to get excited about having the family over for a BBQ this weekend (1st time since Christmas) Planted up some baskets of strawberry & tomato plants to make the garden look pretty & now all my plant babies are going to die aren’t they?!?
  15. My little town has been without power for most of the day. Apparently a transmitter was brought down in Corsham and ended up causing disruption from there to some parts of Swindon, possibly as far as Reading. I actually ended up following huge generators on my way home from work from Lyneham and have since heard they’ve been dotted all around the north side of town to supply power. Can confirm it all sounds rather windy again whilst lying in bed
  16. Thanks for this. I’ve a 2yr old lemon tree (grown from a gin drinking session) just sitting on a windowsill taking up space in the utility. Have brought it a little plastic greenhouse to keep the worst off of it but ideally would like it to the risk of frost to have passed before I stick it out.
  17. Been a beautiful day to be driving around north wilts today (for my job) & was able to make a quick stop off at Bowden Hill, Lacock for lunch. You must be able to see 50+ miles W/SW from up there. I did wonder if any of you were getting any little flurries from these lovelies
  18. Correct me if I’m wrong (I’ve tried looking for your post to quote) but didn’t you throw in the towel yesterday and declare you’d be back next winter?
  19. I know. It always seems to break up or skirt around those hills unless we’re extremely lucky
  20. Typical. Within 30secs of leaving home, I was driving through the heaviest graupel shower yet Still heavy in Wootton Bassett
  21. Love the smell of line dried washing It’s frustrating isn’t it. The skies have gone much darker here now but I’m watching it break up over the hills on the radar. More frustratingly is I have to go to work in a min so can’t enjoy it if it does!
  22. Woke up to bright blue skies & dandruff. Nothing settled on the ground overnight. Just took the dog for a walk along our part of the Wansdyke Path where you can see for miles. Didn’t meet a single soul apart from a friendly robin. Could see no patches of snow not even up on the hills but the ground is frozen & puddles are thick, thick ice. Turned around after a couple of miles as the sky was turning dark & the wind in exposed areas is
