  1. Rich_Clements did my mums Rich Wednesday, same at mums in Yate it was very wet but well drained lawn and like you say it’s looking very scruffy so I set mower on high trim and took a full container load off it, looks lovely now, can even see the miniature Daffs from mums conservatory again dancing in the wind
  2. AWD I know it, got to the point today where I just needed to see some sun so got in the car left Frampton in drizzly spots at 2pm and came to walk the dog on Weston beach. Sunny spells, a tad breezy but glorious afternoon here now which lifted my spirits somewhat today. Currently in dog friendly coffee1 having a well earned Latte before the trek back down the far end of the beach to the car. Bonus - No car park fees today for beach parking yay
  3. danm agree but here in lowland southern UK the 2” snow we had Saturday is still on the ground in patches through the woods day 3 and yesterday was +9c so that makes me happy I don’t need 2ft drifts to enjoy actually seeing snow. With careful holiday planning this past winter in Scotland too this is day 17 of being in snow in some form or another im hoping the GEM earlier (unlikely) is on to something just to end the chase for snow this winter and not the rather rain fest charts from the GFS. We will see.
  4. *Stormforce~beka* thanks Beka but the minute i was set up in the lay-by the next data came in and went from Red back down to normal oh well
  5. Mapantz that’s through the AuroraWatch UK app it’s really good trouble is when I get the Red alert that’s for the current moment in time, by the time i get up to the A46 lay-by the next hourly data was back to normal levels oh well always a next time

  10. Dorsetbred looking for partners in this venture mate if you’ve a spare wad of I’m thinking limit people to 100 (50 of each as we will need to repopulate the world)

  12. Hairy Celt spot on and I live in the south. Last yellow warning for wind in my area was warranted though tbf my dustbin lid blow open Anyhow thankfully I’m back up North of Inverness Friday for 8 days and hopefully see some snow like my epic week 3 weeks ago up there once again the Scottish regional thread is my go to page guys
  13. I’m going back home tomorrow to NE of Bristol I U Scotland. What a week. Some pictures below from Spean Bridge, Tomich and Lossiemouth Im back up Feb 10th for a repeat please
  14. She was short then Scott soz I’ll get my winter
  15. Lovely conditions in Aviemore today, snowing for a good few hours now. As a snow lover I choose a great week to visit the area again
  16. Yes John but it’s more reiterating the fact when a lot of people started bemoaning the fact the cold spell looked ‘mostly no snow for their backyards’ it’s always the case that our cold spells can and do spring up suprise snow in many places (the bands of showers that often can’t be forecast many hours ahead of time) and that’s why even where I live there is always hope anyhow on to the next few days let’s see what happens before the milder weather pushes back in even up here in Inverness at the weekend.
  17. Yes you’re right nothing really showed this, as always happens in cold spells as some of the regulars have been saying snow suprises can and do crop up out of the blue I’m in the north of Scotland at the moment and it’s like ice station Zebra here (always was of course likely in an artic northerly) and I for one will make the most of it before I head home but I’m sure more suprises will crop up else where indeed a front looks like sinking south tonight too. Enjoy if you get snow where ever you are.
  18. I had to pop my head in this thread as I’m very optimistic as I always am in life and reading this thread today I knew would be enough to wipe any hope away and stop me looking like a mad man smiling all the time. seriously what is wrong with everybody it’s just weather. I’ll wager a lot of us will see a flake or two this week and as always a line of showers will pep up and cause surprises during the week. We are the UK, a dot on the world scale of things and not continental USA with a fridge freezer (Canada) above them so I’m afraid that’s the reality. I sill think that front Wednesday will cause more drama before it’s done and dusted and as the regulars always tell us the NWP don’t make the weather. chins up everyone and spread some smiles in this challenging world we live in and love your family if you are lucky enough to have them
  19. Then the final hurdle ‘Will I be able to get out of my Gate’ mum much more positive today guys thanks to all you posters it makes my day.
  20. Comment just above you says much better at 132 than I read yours. Confused.com here.
  21. Reminder Channel 5 at 9pm tonight 1947 Snows. Just saying
  22. Same here Silver Wolf total bust. I’ve spent an hour in the car anticipating the active front but in 15 mins (3 radar frames) it died a sad death waste of time. Perusing a & passionate hobby of weather in this part of the country (love of extremes & Snow, Blizzard’s & cold) is as hard & soul destroying as a climate activist/stop oil fanatic like Greta Thimble burger telling Red Necks in a USA Monster truck rally to go all Electric
  23. If course it will I live by the Mantra ‘if it can go wrong for UK cold it will go wrong’ anyhow Merry Xmas all and if you all want a day off tomorrow I’ll keep an eye on the models and shout if there’s any interest in the immediate term so away with you all, eat & drink too much and enjoy your loved ones if you’re lucky enough to be with them tomorrow.
