  1. So a lot more educated in this subject than the armchair doctors in this thread then?
  2. I work for the NHS, I'd say he has put patients at risk of infection simply by travelling on the train wearing his uniform. Hopefully he will change into a clean uniform when he gets to work.
  3. Yep, I wouldn't want to be Boris (or any world leader) for all the bats in China!
  4. I work at a large NHS Trust in London, and a colleague of mine took a phone call from a member of the public, making a complaint because they were tested for coronavirus a couple of days ago, was told the results would be back in 2-3 days, rang up today for the results, only to be told their samples (it was for his partner too) had been sent to the wrong lab for testing and would have to wait a further week for the results. Now, if it is only 2 samples that have gone to the wrong place, fair enough - but what if 100's or even 1000's have all gone to the wrong lab and the results won't be known for another 7 days?
  5. I've noticed a few in this thread that seem to get excited at all the doom and gloom (and posting any old rubbish off the internet to support their claims that the end of the world is nigh) I don't think some will be happy in here until we have another Spanish Flu pandemic like in 1918 so they can splutter their last lungful of breath with "I told you so".
  6. Funny enough Harry, I thought I saw a flash of lightning. Paused the TV waiting for a rumble, didn't hear a thing! Maybe you could hear the thunder and I can see the lightning
  7. Lightning and rain in Bexleyheath. Not a rumble of thunder heard yet though!
  8. Whoever enjoys, or wishes for this kind of heat seriously needs to see a psychiatrist! Boiling in my office, fans on full blast and I have the dreaded train journey home later, just so I can sit sweating in my front room till it's time to lay in bed boiling to death. Did I ever say this kind of weather also makes me a tad tetchy?
  9. I think Bexleyheath has its own micro climate (and storm shield ). It hasn't felt particularly hot or humid (still had a duvet on, no fan and windows shut last night) - not that I am complaining about it not being humid - I hope it stays like this all week! I have to hand it to @TomSE12, you were spot on about last night's storms and their track, much to my disappointment! Glad we all didn't miss out in the SE though
  10. So it's more a set your alarm job tonight for the early hours, rather than stay up and watch the radar all night (I need my beauty sleep )
  11. Ahh, I grew up in Blackfen, I used to live in Days Lane. I still miss living there!
  12. I know, it's brilliant, especially after yesterday's disappointment! Everything is all white here and it's still coming down
  13. I know, I was genuinely pleasantly surprised when I finally got up to look out the window as really didn't think it would start to settle after raining all day. I hope it continues to snow for a while yet - would be nice to have enough to leave a crunchy footmark in it
  14. Been snowing quite a while here in Bexleyheath, but haven't bothered to get up to look out the window as wasn't expecting it to settle, after last night's disappointment and the fact it has been raining all day. Am very pleasantly surprised to find it has started to settle, more so already than last night. Very unexpected - the best type of snow event!
  15. Not going to lie, very disappointed this morning. Had plenty of snow fall over night in Bexleyheath, but it simply refused to settle (apart from tops of cars and house roofs - maybe that elevation helped ) All melted by this morning! Nice to see some of us faired better though
  16. Scrap that, I've just had another look out the window. Snow is the heaviest it's been all night and is starting to settle. Phew
  17. Been snowing moderately for a good hour in Bexleyheath but isn't showing any signs of settling. I really thought we wouldn't have any problems with this due to air and dp temperatures being in our favour overnight. Has something changed temperature wise?
  18. Feeling a bit downbeat at the moment as was hoping to see a bit of settling snow by now; any snow that is falling isn't settling. Think I'm off to bed and hope some snow settles over night
  19. Lots of you live in a place called 'here'. Where abouts in the SE is that?
