  1. Instead of blaming flooding after rain (nothing out of the ordinary) or flooding after a thunder storm (again, looking back over the years, nothing out of the ordinary), let's think back 20 or more years when there was a regular road sweeper/machines that cleaned leaves and debris from clogging drains. People employed at all the local parks and open spaces, making sure rivers and the like were clear from anything that could block flow and cause flooding. Not forgetting the green spaces being built on without consideration of problems. I'm not saying that global warming isn't a thing, but let's be sensible when everything gets blamed on that, rather than general maintenance of our roads, drains and rivers.
  2. Rain is getting heavier here. Maybe it's because I grew up in an era before everything gets reported online, but I can honestly say, this weather is nothing out of the ordinary, and people should be questioning why they have floods now, and didn't 20 odd years ago when they had the same uneventful amount of rain. I'm just grateful I don't have many years left.
  3. But do you not question why it's flooding? Is this rain honestly any worse than years gone by? I suspect not.
  4. So why the weather warnings about rain and flooding? The big elephant in the room when it comes to global warming is restricting how many children we can have. If we carry on the way we are, with no limit, earth simply cannot cope.
  5. I just don't get it. This kind of weather keeps making the news, but it's just typical British weather. Rain half the day, a couple of gusts of wind (literally nothing of note) and suddenly it's all because of global warming Its apparently got nothing to do with the continuing expansion of births worldwide, continuing building of housing and expansion of cities on green land without consideration of drainage. Not forgetting the lazy stupid prats that prefer fake grass to lawnmowing a few months in the summer. I appreciate there is more to global warming issues than the above, but surely to God, the main issue is not tackling the expanding reproduction of humans on a planet that simply cannot cope.
  6. I can't believe this has even warranted a thread. In the grand scheme of things, what do likes and dislikes matter? Take a step back and appreciate the real things you have in life. Who cares if someone likes your post? Is it a matter of life and death? No, I thought not
  7. I'd rather have this weather any day to having the heat that Europe is experiencing. Last year's record breaking temperatures were something I never want to see repeated!!
  8. Am I the only person living in the SE/London area sick to death of putting up with weeks of heat and humidity and getting zero in storms (or what I call a reward) for putting up with this shiet heat?
  9. I'm in Devon from Saturday, so that has pretty much guaranteed it will be the South Easts turn this time
  10. Bloody typical - storm over Bexley, and I am stuck at work in London
  11. We had a rain - sleet - snow (started settling) - back to sleet and now cold rain with any laying snow now melted. Bloody horrible, cold, wet aand grey out now
