  1. Pressure bottomed out here in north London at 951.4mb at about 8.30am. Slowly rising now. Barely a breath of wind here all morning, as I presume we have been right under the core. So much air moving so fast round the edges and yet the plughole remains calm! Where does it go?! I Hope life, limb and livelihoods are ok for those in other places .
  2. IMG_7094.MOV Id say about 8cm on the level. Fair play for those who saw this coming mid week. Self determined . Snow day tomorrow I think. Can’t quite make out the movement now, we are either close to finishing or about to have another swipe. Either way, lovely end to weekend and lots of folk having a late night walk IMG_7094.MOV
  3. “Bone dry Synoptics” as some of the modellers had it! Current scenes in Palmers Green, north London
  4. Good to read of all the detail. Following my earlier post, the convection reached southern Kefalonia on Thursday morning, where we head a good (non electrified) storm for an hour or so. I Wondered how unusual this was in August, so thanks for the wider picture. Lunching in Agostoli, there was a storm brooding over the hills most of the afternoon. All seems settled now .
  5. Hi all from Kefalonia . This is the view due east from our balcony near skala. Looking at radar this would seem to be the anvil and western flank of the huge storm centred somewhere around Patras? That must be about 50 miles. Happy to be corrected By anyone more familiar with local conditions/geography. There’s been a line of convection over there ever since Sunday. In quiet moments I think I can hear very distant thunder. Could that be possible?
  6. Palmers green right under the red band on radar. As it inches west, more seems to form to SE side to take its place Thunder again now, third wave. 33mm since 3pm.
  7. Slap bang under this little number and smells magnificent! Huge Raindrops . Nothing spectacular but first rain in the gauge since 0.25mm on 4 July . Topped out now at a mighty 1.2mm
  8. As earlier, seems clear I’m picking up some reflected heat from somewhere near the gauge. But pretty dramatic nonetheless.
  9. Often runs a little hot compared to to official stations but seems generally in keeping with others?
  10. Now at 31.2c here in Enfield, having broken through 30 only about 20 mins ago.
  11. Nice sunset anvil from north London. Looks on radar that this is from shower over north Kent. About 30miles?
