  1. Well Thursday into Friday that snow risk is still being shown.
  2. Wales traffic cams especially A465 shows valleys getting quite abit now. Roads covered.
  3. It looks to be petering out guys. Hopefully the heavier stuff can keep its intensity. However I think it will decay :-/.
  4. Ah the beast from the east and storm Emma - 01/03/2018. That was the best snow storm I had seen in my 39 years here on earth which I will remember. I was too young to remember the great snow storm of 1981. It was similar apparently with drifts over the hedges like 2018 but more. It lasted alot longer too. My brother has photos of that great storm somewhere. In 2018 we had 58cms of level snow in the end and upto 2 metre drifts. Perhaps even higher in places near Cowbridge in the Vale. I even have a snap of the red weather warning that was issued by the met office . Looks great when you look back at it for snow fans. One day I hope to see this happen again but last longer rather than a thaw to follow a few hours or days later. Fingers crossed .
  5. It is impressive. I will remain cautious that the low might go too west. Hopefully not. Although having said that the charts in the 6 hours might look totally different . However things are upbeat and moving in the right direction for ❄
  6. Can you post the image of the control chart mate. Be good for all to see .
  7. I wouldn't worry about what happens in the long range as this is will chop and change. They probably haven't updated it yet. Anyway let's get back to model talk or Mapantz will go Christmas crackers
  8. Latest met office outlook now seems to be inline with (models consensus) for the medium term prospects. Highlighting it becoming possibly stormy with heavy rain or potential snow towards the new year. Looking at the utility industry updates I get its seems like it will be more marginal to higher ground the further south you go and more to the lower levels further north - (north of M4 for example - the better the odds of seeing snow). As is usually the case. Critically it will come down to how low those upper layers reach across the country. Interesting watching to come .
  9. Getting stormy and nasty here now. Trees really getting a battering. Small branches breaking off.
  10. Just been through this storm. Alot of lightning but thunder not that loud considering how close the strikes were. Rain very torrential and gusty winds of 60mph.
  11. Oh that would be awesome . Keep up the good posts mate. I always enjoy seeing what could happen. Some might be dream model charts but hey it is always a possibility . UK weather is full of surprises.
  12. Well that was some unexpected storm. Huge bang woke me up then the gale and hail . 2nd time this week.
  13. Hi matty I have just come out of self isolation after possibly having the virus. It was scary to start (that cough was so annoying) but you will soon overcome it pretty quickly. All I advise now is to rest, play games, watch movies and read books etc in self isolation. Keep well hydrated, take some paracetamol and you will come out of this no problem. My attitude was let's get this over with. I now feel great again. Hang in there mate everything's going to be fine as long as you take your precautions and keep away from other people. Once you recover have a good clean out of the room you isolated in. Bedding washed immediately etc to get rid of any traces of the bug.
  14. If you think of all the travel we have I think you might be wrong saying it couldn't spread like covid 19. It actually did spread from west towards central Africa for a while but luckily they found a preventive vaccine and took decisive action against the most recent strain that caused high infections in the Congo republic - please refer to WHO site for info. Like covid 19 ebola does not display symptoms straight away but it causes respiratory symptoms as it develops. Viruses that cause any infection of the respiratory tract can easily become a problem to infect others via airborne droplets then touch etc. That makes them the biggest threat. Luckily where Ebola occured were not in high travel regions and it didnt mutate enough to allow it to become airborne via coughing and sneezing only by close contact. Many people are just too poor to fly abroad in this region of Africa so its spread was limited to there unlike china and Europe people have money to travel the world. I just hope we all learn a valid lesson from this covid 19 should anything worse god forbid ever develops in the future. This is a serious wake up call guys for humanity. We take for granted like nothing could ever happen in our daily lives but sometimes as history shows it repeats itself - anything is possible. As the population increases so does the risk of diseases spreading faster. We just had a lucky escape that this was not the big one (like the plague for example). We need to be prepared for anything and not live in denial that a virus cant spread because it will otherwise as demonstrated by the steep rise in cases in Italy, Spain, Iran and China previously etc. This is a big learning lesson for everyone around the world. It's now not the time for countries to panic, argue with themselves and each other. Solving its spread is now the key or to develop a vaccine asap. Light at the end of the tunnel will come. We will get through this as we always do. As shown in history so there is no need for high level of panic in supermarkets etc.. Remember this isn't the big one. It's not world war Z etc :-). Sadly there will be losses of loved ones out there for some families. That's to be expected unfortunately right now until this is under control :-(.
  15. We are just lucky this has not a severe mortality rate like ebola or we would have been done for. Useless planning ahead was the failure here.
  16. Crazy thing is as soon as there is a vaccine the markets will fly back up. Panic is driving everyone mad atm. Anxiety is the driver behind everything right now from the panic buying in supermarkets to selling on the stock markets.
  17. US stock markets crash again triggering trading freeze for 15 mins. Dow over 1696 points lower. FTSE 100 off nearly 9%. This will endanger jobs if these falls continue.
  18. Tell me about it - ME/PVS is horrid. When it first develops it terrifies you to think you are coming down with MS or some nervous system illness that will eventually kill you. Anxiety goes through the roof - not even a psychiatrist can reasure you everything is ok because the symptoms are that dreadful. It took the doctor 1 year to confirm my diagnosis. 20 years later and I still suffer from time to time but it's so relieving once you had the tests and diagnosis. I do expect some people to who recover from this virus to get similar symptoms to PVS. Mine started after the H1N1 virus which turned into pneumonia for 3 months in 2009/2010. The recovery was soon followed by my unfortunate downfall to PVS.
  19. Big falls on us markets. Not seen 2k points drop in my lifetime. Bouncing back off lows abit now.
  20. Dow jones is forecast to fall 1500+ points in the USA- watching - CNBC
  21. I think there is a chance of evaporative cooling on this system in a few places. Be prepared for surprises. Models dont pick up on this very well unfortunately. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds.
