  1. All downgraded as usual... If I had a quid every time I was promised a winter wonderland I would be living in Canada now, where the snow is real, not a dream like here in this perpetual autumn 😞
  2. There you go Some people nowadays, not just when it comes to weather, confuse free thinking with denying or distorting know facts. Global warming is a fact. We can argue what has caused it, whether is good or bad, how to address it or ignore it but it's a fact. Again, like it or not. Saying that you don't believe in global warming is like saying that you don't believe that tomorrow the sun will rise. It will, even if you don't believe in it.
  3. You struggle to grasp the concept of average, don't you? If studies say that on average the Swedish are taller than, say, Spanish that doesn't mean that you can't find a very tall Spanish guy. It's not so hard. On average the temperatures have been rising globally, like it or not. Keep denying it is absolutely silly.
  4. LOL, you are the one who is cherry picking. The average temperatures are going up all over the world and that's a fact. And this has been going on for at least a couple of decades. A snowfall in June in Norway or wherever really doesn't mean anything at all.
  5. sorry to hear that 😞 hopefully it won't be too hot when you are down there
  6. But for real? In this case I suppose you can never do anything in this country and your are constantly sleep deprived. Dubai would be a better choice for you
  7. But why would you wish something like that!?! I can't believe you can't see the beauty in a snow covered countryside or city .. You are missing out, big time.
  8. To be honest, the kind of summer you describe is not our British summer and I don't think it will ever be. If you expect something like that you set yourself up for disappointment. Like someone else has written our small island is neither Dubai nor Siberia.
  9. Lol, very true. It's quite nice to sit outside in the garden, enjoying the peace, the cool breeze, the smell of the soil after the rain... Rather than suffering from heat and humidity. It really feels like I can breathe again!
  10. If you like hot weather you will be pleased looking at the model today. In the long run it seems like summer it's going to come back with a vengeance!
  11. I mean it's just a normal British summer, this is not Spain
  12. That's a bit of a overreaction... I mean we had a few days of temperatures way above average, now we are going to have a few below average. It's a way for the nature to restore balance
  13. I don't think you are in the minority. I am absolutely with you on this.
  14. A lot of folks aren't really happy unless we hit 35 degrees, go figure... Like you can't enjoy the outdoors, the garden, have a picnic, whatever if it's 27, can you?
  15. Which is exactly what makes our countryside so green and beautiful...
  16. Much needed rain coming soon, starting from tomorrow thank God
  17. At least they are trying to get something done! Who else is doing anything about climate change?
  18. Some people clearly don't understand the meaning of the word average. It's like saying that is not true that life expectancy has increased in the past 30 years because you know somebody who passed away at 40 something...it's ridiculous honestly.
  19. This damn global warming! And nobody is doing anything about it! As usual people will wake up when it's way too late...
  20. This thread is called moans and ramps, isn't it? So what's the big deal? If you read the "Model output discussion" thread there are dozens of people who keep repeating for the millionth time how awesome it is to break heat records and who constantly root for hotter and hotter temperatures. Why is this behaviour allowed in an "official" thread and frowned upon in a thread called "moans" it's beyond me... Or only heat lovers are allowed to post?
